1. Gene~al, de$criptipn and operation principle

,M~chani~al emE)rg~ncy gpvernor safe system mainly cQnsist of


emergency governor, emergency governor pilot, normal close and normal
open electromagnetic valve, orifice plate, diaphragm valve which senses low
oil pressure signal of safe oil.

of emergency governor pilot and flying ball is about 1mm.At a speed of
110%-112% rated speed ,the flying ball flies out due to the action of
centrifuge force and the travel is 4mm.The flying ball hits the baffle plate of
emergency governor pilot, then the hook of the baff!e plate at the
emergency governor pilot trips, at the- same time emergency governor pilot

On the top of emergency governor pilot, there is a reset oil window and
., tt;le oil pressure a~ts upside of emergency governor pilot. During normal
operation, no oil pc;lsses because of the controlling with normal close
.slectromagnetic valve. The electromagnetic valve is powered on before
starting the turbine, and the reset oil enters into up-cavity of emergency
gov~rnor pilot. With the action of the oil pressure, the compressfon spring of
ertte~gency governor pilot moves downwards. With the action of twist spring,
,the baffle plate of emergency governor pilot resets. Then electromagnetic
valve being powered off , emergency governor pilot completes reset function .

testduring at the n'o rmal speed.

. 3. Outline of main elements

3.1 Emergency gov~rnor

Emergency governor produced by our factory is a g~neral element. It is a


tracHtional, reliable element with easy adjustment, small volume. , and it has

Flying ball being used by emergency governor, due to the centrifuge


fQrce, action, flying ball flies out with a 4mm travel if the flying ball force
()v:~r.comes tl1e spring force. At a speec;i of ab9ut3050r/m, the flying ba.llpf

emergency governor will draw bac,k. Adjusting pre-compression force of
spring by means of adjusting sleeve of emergency governor, the spe~d of
flyin'g out can be set~t a desirable speed (was set before delivery). Being a
gear with 60 teeth at the end of emergency governor, it is used for turbine
unit speed measurement, the speed of flying out and the maximum
momentary speed and key phase. . '.

3'~ ; 9merg~ns}' governor pilot

Emergency governor pilot and emergency governor are formed complete


~e~, both axe a traditional, general element with bigger o.i l discharge
cli~placeJ11ent, reli~ble move.ment, convenient usage. Emergency gOVefnor

.pilot is composed of housing, sleeve, pilot valve, baffle plate, compre~sion


spri.ng and twist ~pring. The operation principle: flying ball hits baffle, then
tr,ip'~ off pilot valve, the hook of the baffle plate of the emergency governor

pilot trips, at the same time emergency governor pilot will rise due to
spring force, making pressure of safe oil reduce quickly with opening the
window of discharging oil. The quick decline of safe oil pressure makes
cli.~phragm valve acting swiftly.

Orifice plate is installed in lubricating oil pipe towards emergency


governor pilot and passing the orifice plate then safe oil is set.

disturbed by safe oil decline

, 4.re.$~ o~ oil filling


' With the oil filling the flying ball.,ofemergency governor cando flying out
test during at the normalspeed,the procedUre as following: close normal
open electromagnetic valve (1) in the safe oil pipe which passes toward

emergency governor pilot firstly without making action of diaphragm valve,
then do oil filling with a pressure of O.2Mpa. When flying ball flying out,
emergency governor indicator issues a signal. After complete oil filling,
'!If,~i.~;ing a mom~nt ,then open reset electromagnetic valve(3) of emergenc'Y

g,o vernor pilot and make emergency governor pilot rest. At last open the
normal open e.lectromagnetic valve(1) in safe oil pipe, making the emergency
g'o vernor system reset to normal state. These procedures described above
are, complet~ly by ETS (emergency trip system)
