Sub: Revised temperature setting of Air Conditioning System in Coaches during Summer
Season
Ref: Rly. Bd. Letter no. 2005/Elect(G)/145/3 dated 11.04.2023
Vide above referred letter, Railway Board has pointed out that Rail Madad Complaints
per 100 coaches per day during the period 15.03.23 to 21.03.23 in ECR was 1.85 which is
highest in IR. During subsequent analysis and follow up action, it was observed that complaints
related to less cooling in AC Coaches are still significantly high.
In view of the above, it is hereby advised that following temperature setting be followed
with immediate effect in LHB AC coaches during summer season:
However, above temperature setting may be changed in case of any passenger demand
on case to case basis.
In ICF Coaches, since there is only one setting of 23oC - 25o C, it is essential that
proper pre-cooling is done before start of journey.
