Fall 22 End of Semester Assessments Protocol
Fall 22 End of Semester Assessments Protocol
Guidelines:
● Every student, no matter the grade status, would be allowed to opt-out of two semester final
assessments. For yearlong courses, students may not opt out of the semester final for both fall and
spring semesters.
● Final assessments will be comprehensive and approved by the PLC team and administrator.
● Finals in courses which have not implemented standards referenced grading are worth 15% of the
overall grade for all courses. Teachers in courses which have implemented standards referenced
grading may utilize this assessment as another piece of evidence for standards within the course,
and they will communicate the specific details of how this assessment will be factored into the
overall grade with students.
● Classes that meet during the black portion will give their final during the first 43 minutes of the block
period. Classes that meet during the gold portion will give their final during the last 43 minutes of
the block period. This is the same format we follow every day for black/gold classes. Zippered
classes will not meet during the ½ block period as their final will be given during the full block period
(Algebra A & AP science courses)
● Students are only required to attend classes in which they have a semester final.
