About
Chengalpattu
Medical College
The history of the Chengalpattu Medical College dates
back to days before 1965 when this was a District Head
Quarters hospital with its building in the town. In 1965, The
Government of Tamilnadu upgraded this District
Headquarters hospital as a teaching institution with 250
beds for clinical training. Vedachalam Mudaliar, the then
Chairman of Chengalpattu Municipality, donated a vast
area, which is in pocession of this institution. Today the
college is under the affiliation of The TN Dr.MGR Medical
University, Chennai, State of TamilNadu, India, and is
wholly administered by the Government of State of
TamilNadu.

The college Entrains the motto of - Discipline, Service and

Sacrifice. The College, Hospital Buildings and its hostels
are located in a sprawling campus of 240 acres at
Highgrounds in Chengalpattu, in the District of
Kancheepuram, TamilNadu. The College campus is located
within two kms of the Chengalpattu Railway Station
junction, Intercity Bus Station and 30 KM from
International Airport.
Charm
Event Description
CHARM is the annual national level undergraduate medical
conference conducted by chengalpattu medical college.
Started in the year 2013, CHARM has evolved over the years to
become the most successful event of all time.

This year marks the 10th year of the conference and the 16th
edition of the undergraduate quiz. Every year undergraduates
across the country participate in the conference. CHARM
provides a platform for students to showcase their knowledge
and research findings. The conference also includes multiple
workshops,quizzes, debate, case and research paper
presentations.
