Contingency plan

If either of the costa or house don’t work, the main thing that I
would change the places to public that the two different types of
teenagers hang out. This mainly just to stay on the main frame of
the idea for the project and have it so where both of them hang
out is different for when they are not together. This will still be what
I intended just not in the same places that I wanted them to be.

Health and Safety

The risk of using a public place will be the public and the amount
of noise that they make to go through the mic into the camera.
There might be things on the floor that could make my actors hurt
themselves so must watch out for them. Using a dodgy alleyway
there might be sharp broken bottles on the floor and other non-
nice things to go anywhere near

EXT: FIELD – MID MORNING

Two teenagers, KYLE and CONNOR siting in a field talking

about their future and what it is they want to do with their
lives and what they want to do for lunch.

KYLE
Man, I’m starving, are you?

CONNOR
Not really, I had a pretty large breakfast at
eight so I’m fine

KYLE
Fair bro, I mean it is only (looks at watch)
12:45

CONNOR
I never knew you watch a watch, since when did
you start wearing one?

KYLE
Well I just thought it would be useful to know
what the time was whenever I didn’t have my phone because it
had been taken of off me when at home

CONNOR
Well its always good to go and get some fresh
air once in a while and stay away from screens, right?

KYLE
Yeah, but I really love my phone it’s got all
the fun things to look at like TikTok and Instagram

CONNOR
Well you know, I like it but like I said it
good to get away from it

KYLE
Whatever man, I just prefer it

CONNOR
You prefer it to speaking to someone like me
but you never know what could come up, you hear what happened
to Anthony? Went to see someone he met online and never came
back.

KYLE
Yeah but like that only a short percentage of
people that that would happen to in the world

CONNOR

 Not so true Kyle, it happens to people all
around the world, you never know that it might be happening
right now. Anyhow, how long do you spend on your phone on a
daily basis? Just a question

KYLE
On a daily average around 5 to 6 hours a day

CONNOR
Wow that’s quit a lot

KYLE
Really, how long do you spend on your phone a
day then? See if it’s any worse than mine

CONNOR
Not really, I only spend about 2 to 2 and a
half hours on my phone a day mainly just responding to text
from parents or trying to arrange something with friends. I’m
assuming that you use yours for a lot worse?

KYLE
Yeah course I do, looking at insta and stuff on
the internet, stuff you wouldn’t understand

CONNOR
I do understand it, but like I was saying to
much of that could lead to things like bad decisions. Take my
big brother for example, he wanted to become a lawyer and
after watching something on Instagram he went into the world
of drugs because he said it would make him more money, and he
is now regretting everything just because of what he saw on
Instagram

KYLE
Wow that’s pretty deep not goanna lie man, dude
went from wanting good things and then it all turned to shit
bro.

CONNOR
Yeah, and after that never heard from him
again, kind of upsetting not going to lie. But I’ve gotten
over that and I’m progressing with my life and putting the
past behind me

KYLE
Good for you man, at least now you ain’t got to
worry about that anymore.

CONNOR

 Yeah you not wrong, anyway enough about that
lets talk about what we want for the future, lighten the mood
a bit

KYLE
Yeah sounds like a good idea man

CONNOR
So, then what is that you want to do once you
leave college?

KYLE
Well man, I don’t know but what I can tell you
is I want to be a millionaire and have a big house so I can
invite all my friends

CONNOR
Nice, though you may have to work really hard
so that you can get the job to become a millionaire, right?

KYLE
Yeah, no way man, I just want the money when I
leave, man I don’t wanna work too hard.

CONNOR
Well good luck with that mate, you can’t just
wish for the money you know, you have to do something to get
to it. You can’t just become a millionaire without doing
anything.

KYLE
Yeah whatever, what do you want to be then when
you leave college huh?

CONNOR
Well for one, I would like to make a difference
in the world and make it a better place to live and also, I
want to mainly have a happy life.

KYLE
Wow so boring. You wanna be happy and have a
nice place to live

CONNOR
says the person who doesn’t want to work and
do absolutely nothing with his life and be rich

KYLE
It’s a least a goal in life

CONNOR

 Yeah for those who work hard and work their way
up the ladder to becoming successful in life

KYLE
Do you have a problem Connor about what it is
that I want to do in the future?

CONNOR
No, I don’t, all I’m saying is that if you work
hard now and get the grades you want out of college then yes
you can become a millionaire but there are many things you
have to do to get up to that point.

KYLE
Yeah, whatever you say. (MUMBLES UNDER HIS
BREATH) arsehole.

CONNOR
What was that?

KYLE
Oh, nothing don’t worry

CONNOR
Okay, I just thought I heard something

KYLE
Yeah, I was talking to myself.

CONNOR
Okay, that’s cool, well it is for some people,
right?

KYLE
Yeah for some people it is.

CONNOR
Anyway, speak to you later, I got to go and
sort something out at home

KYLE
Cool, bye

CONNOR
Bye

Connor leaves and heads towards home and Kyle is left behind
in the middle of the field looking at Connor walking further
away

INT: HOUSE – MID AFTERNOON

 CONNOR at home going through all the stuff that he has to
do the homework that he needed to finish for the next day

CONNOR
Wow my room is a mess, need to clear it up

Connor begins to clean around and then finally gets to work

doing the homework he had to do

EXT: TOWN SQUARE – MORNING

Kyle is sat on a bench waiting for Connor and scrolling

through Instagram. Kyle notices Connor and starts to walk over

KYLE
Hey bro, what’s hanging?

CONNOR
Not much, just a bit tired from yesterday, I
stayed up doing the work that the teacher set and forgot to
look at the time and get enough sleep to be able to be ready
for today

KYLE
Wait we had homework to do?

CONNOR
Yeah, did you not know that, it was set like a
week ago, I mean I did but thought I would add a bit more
description into my final answer, are you saying you didn’t do
it?

KYLE
I did do but not to the extent that you did

CONNOR
How many Detailed paragraphs do you think I
did?

KYLE
I’m not too sure, like 3

CONNOR
No, I actually have done 5 not including the
conclusion paragraph

KYLE
Wow, you really want to get good grades then?

CONNOR

get those big jobs that I was telling you about yesterday.

KYLE
Oh yeah you right, good point. Well anyways I
will come up with a great excuse to say why I have only done
one paragraph

CONNOR
Don’t you always come up with an excuse and it
never actually works, right?

KYLE
No, it has actually worked twice before so
hopefully it works this time

CONNOR

KYLE

Both of them start making themselves to college, Connor

thinking about what it is that the teacher will say about
Kyles homework

INT: CLASSROOM – AFTERNOON

Both Connor and Kyle sit and wait for the teacher to ask for
their homework, Connor glances over at Kyle and smiles

TEACHER
Alright everyone, I’m going to come around and
have a look at your homework that I set a week ago, please
make sure it is on the table in front of you. (walks over to
Connor) can I see your homework please?

CONNOR
There you are (hands paper to teacher)

TEACHER
Wow very detailed Connor, looks like you’ll be
going up in the world if you keep this up

CONNOR
Thank you. (glances at Kyle) now your next

TEACHER
Yours please Kyle

KYLE
Give me one second to take it out of my bag

I thought I told you to have out on the desk
ready for me to have a look at it

KYLE
I couldn’t hear it, I had headphones on, so

TEACHER
Well maybe next time don’t come into class
wearing them and listen next time

KYLE
Alright I’ll make sure to do that

TEACHER
Kyle why this only one paragraph? It said that
it had to be at least 3 detailed paragraphs of work

KYLE
Well you see miss, I didn’t have enough time
because of the activities and stuff I have

CONNOR
That’s a fat lie, all you do is hang out with
the wrong kind of people and don’t do anything with your life

TEACHER
(looking at Connor) thank you. (looking at
Kyle) is that true, Kyle?

KYLE
Yes, miss it is

CONNOR
You’re in big trouble now

TEACHER
Kyle I’m going to put you on a d1

KYLE
Miss you can’t do that, I’m already on d3.

CONNOR
What the … really!

TEACHER
Well I’m still going to have to put you on a d4
then instead and you know what happens if you do something
like this again?

KYLE
Yes miss I do. I get expelled

And I also get to message you parents and tell
them why

KYLE
Well they don’t really care if I do

TEACHER
I wonder why, because you don’t do well in
school, your homework is horrible and you also don’t care
about what other people think of you with your terrible choice
of clothing

CONNOR
Miss I would like to say I agree with you

TEACHER
Thank you, Connor, see at least some people
understand what it’s like to play by the books and do as they
have been asked

KYLE
Yeah but Connor is such a try hard

TEACHER
Well at least he trying his best to get the
best results out of life, by trying hard now, makes his life
in the future better

KYLE
(mumbling) yeah whatever

TEACHER
What was that

KYLE
Nothing miss.

TEACHER
Okay (walks back to desk)

CONNOR
Wow you never told me you were on a d3 before
now. Why?

KYLE
Why would you care. You’re just Mr know it all,
the smart arse of the class

CONNOR
Well at least I want to do good in life and not
just get anything for free

be bright Connor? All the bright ideas you got inside that
head of yours is going to get you far

LYNSEY is waiting in costa for Connor as they wanted to

Well it went okay for the first part of the day
when I met up with Kyle and then It all went downhill from

can become friends again but what the teacher said to him in
class about being put onto a D4 I don’t know if I will see him

Me neither, but we just have to pray he isn’t

Just because I was worried that you go and do
something stupid after what the teacher said to you in class
yesterday

KYLE
Why would I do that? (bag falls out of his
pocket)

CONNOR
