Introduction

The chapter contains research of literatures related to the subject matter. The

research provides informations and backgrounds that are cited to further elaborate the

datas on the research. This allows the researchers to have the knowledge about the

amount of work done in the concerned area. The review of the related literature provides

insight regarding strong points and limitations of the previous studies. The research

enables to improve the investigation and arrive at the proper perspective of the study.

The researchers’ seek articles to the research title which includes factors

affecting the decision making of ABM students in choosing their respective courses. The

articles that are cited shows about the different and important decisions in life a person

will make. With such a wide range of courses to choose from, it can be difficult to make a

certain or specific choice. Getting it done right will not only save money from expenses

Local Study

A study about the factors that are affecting the course preferences of graduating

ABM students.

Educational status is every bit essential to the progress of one country’s

economy. According to Martin Luther King (1964), “The function of education is to

teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligent plus character- that is the

goal of the education.” This only means that attaining knowledge is not only about how

easy or how difficult the academic subjects are. It is about how they are taught. As

today’s reception to the curriculum in accordance with the K-12 program

implementation, many factors are affecting the senior high school student’s course

preference.

One of the biggest problems of a particular graduating high school student is to

decide on what course they will take in college. Accepting the fact that there are mere

factors that affects their decisions. The factor that affects the most with regards to college

course decision-making is the financial stability of the family. With this, the student finds

it complicated to decide whether to go for the course that he or she desires or to go for the

course that his or her family can afford.

Foreign Study

A foreign study about the evaluation of Factors affecting choice of college: A

case study of UNLV hotel College students. The growth in the tourism and hospitality

industry caused a tremendous increase in the number and type of tourism and hospitality

programs at two- and four-year colleges in the United States.

This study identified factors that influence students’ choices among in-state,

out-of-state, and international students. The study utilized exploratory factor analysis to

identify appropriate factors and multivariate analysis of variance to determine differences

in college choices among the three groups. The results of this research will be beneficial

to colleges in the development of appropriate promotions to differentiate themselves in a

meaningful way to potential students, not just in the United States but also over the

world.
