Lesson aims:
-to talk about gadgets and inventions
- to revise and practice the Passive Voice with the help of the context of technology
-to promote discussions
-to listen and read a text for specific information
-to answer the questions
-to complete sentences with the missing words

Objectives:
- SWBAT identify learned words and phrases in texts on the topic and revise vocabulary;
- SWBAT identify and name gadgets and inventions and different types of technology;
- SWBAT practise the new vocabulary related to the topic by writing their own sentences
- SWBAT understand the text by stating the sentences True or False (engage in conversations,
provide and obtain specific information).

Assumptions:
- Ss must have a satisfactory level of English;
- Ss must be eager to participate.

Anticipated problems and possible solutions:


- If Ss do not understand the oral commands or the tasks, they will be translated into
Romanian.

Materials: Textbook, Handouts, Pictures, Blackboard


Methods: brainstorming, conversation, reading, explanation, elicitation, description.

ACTIVITY 1 :
Organising the class : -greeting the class
-checking the homework
Aim - to promote discussions.

Time : 5 minutes

ACTIVITY 2 :
T writes on the blackboard the word “gadget” and brainstorm the Ss ideas and writes on the
blackboard all the words stated by them. T explains that they will talk about those common
inventions, things people are so used to use without realizing that they actually depend on them.
These are called inventions. T shows some picture of common gadgets that we use every day and
asks the Ss to match the pictures with the words describing gadgets then she asks them which of
them are more important. T elicits the new vocabulary and writes it on the blackboard.

- to match the pictures to the new vocabulary

Time : 10 minutes

ACTIVITY 3 :
T has Ss work in pairs and asks them to quickly scan the text and underline 4 new words in the
text that they don’t know. T writes some of them on the blackboard and encourages Ss to guess
the meaning (looking at the context, related words etc.)
T reads the text in front of the classroom and then the Ss take turn to read and translate the text
“An interactive life”. T writes on the blackboard all the new vocabulary and Ss write it in their
notebooks.

Time : 20 minutes

ACTIVITY 4:
T asks the Ss to look at Worksheet no.2 and to solve the first exercise by choosing the correct
variant True or False in order to see their comprehension of the text. The Ss solve the task and
report to the class. T corrects them where necessary.
In order to revise the new vocabulary, T asks the Ss to solve ex.2 on the Worksheet no.1 in
which they have to complete de missing words with one of the words from the ex.no.1. Ss solve
the exercise and report to the class. T corrects them where necessary.
Then T asks the Ss to write sentences using the 4 new words they have already chosen. Ss write
the sentences and report to the class. T corrects them where necessary

ACTIVITY 5 :
Home assessment –
Project - Students are asked to design a project about their favourite gadget (most or less known).
Teacher praises all the students for their contribution.
