INTRODUCTION

Social media has played a significant role in acting a great source of

communication exchange. If a student uses it cautiously, social media platforms can

be a great source of entertainment and learning. However, one must remain alert that

they don’t become an addict to this. Which is common scenario these days the

internet is a new medium for bullying. And the social media can teach you important

life lesson.

According to Tuten and Solomon (2015) “Social media are the online means of

communication, conveyance, collaboration, and cultivation among interconnected

and interdependent networks of people, communities and organizations enhanced by

technological capabilities. Basically, it is the websites and applications people use

everyday to share content with users.

Pit-os National Highschool is a very beautiful school here in Cebu City. A

popular and quickly growing knowledges and interaction outlet are social media

where students in PNHS are free to gain information and express their thoughts sites

like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The demand for social media has grown

worldwide and it has bought some significant changes in students of PNHS. Even

though the effects of that social media are debatable, but one thing that everyone

would agree that social media is certainly enjoyable.

The objectives of our research is to help controlling our self from social media

usage and we need to use it properly in order to avoid threat from social media and

other platform.
 Our purpose is to help the student know what is wrong with the student in

other educational systems and make new friends, communicate, with old friends and

get different opinion on things like surveys. And to aware some people what are the

disadvantages and advantages of social media. In study it helps us to finish our

homework quickly. Give some advice how to manage your time using social media,

Like do your studies first before using or playing mobile games.

The researchers suggest to the students to use social media properly. In

technology like cellphone we should also discipline ourselves in using it specially

when we are in school. In school use your cellphones only in recess and lunch not

during classes. Lastly, we should discipline ourselves by using social media at the

night time. Do not abuse and use it properly so that it will help us to improve our

performance in school.
