Abstract

Quality of Work Life (QWL) has been defined as the quality of relationship between
employees and the total work environment. As employees spend most of the time at their
work place, so it should yield greater job satisfaction for them by making them eager to come
to work every day. This study will be conducted identify the relationship and impact of
quality of work life on employee’s job performance. It is hypothesized that there will be a
positive significant relationship between quality of work life and employee’s job
performance and that Quality of work life impacts employee’s job performance. This
research will be based on two methods, quantitative and qualitative. The sample will consist
of 150 employees from different positions. Walton’s quality of work life questionnaire will
be used as well as an in-depth interview will be conducted to collect the data. In order to
analyze the data, we will use inferential statistics. Throughout the entire research all ethical
guidelines will be followed.

Methodology
The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between quality of work life and
employee’s job performance and to examine the impact of quality of work life on
employee’s job performance. The objective is to find out how to measure the quality of work
life in organizations and this study is also being conducted to understand why quality of
work life is important for having a better performance.
Research design:
The proposed research will be conducted as a hybrid research.
Sample:
The research will be conducted on 150 employees from different positions from 2 different
companies in Karachi. They’ll be selected through random sampling technique.
Four to Six people will be interviewed from different positions as well.
Variables:
Independent variable will be the quality of work life.
Dependent variable will be employee’s job performance.
Statistical Analysis
The data will be collected through both qualitative and quantitative methods. For the
quantitative data collection, Walton’s quality of work life questionnaire will be used. For the
qualitative data collection an in-depth interview will be conducted. The data collected will be
analyzed statistically using inferential statistics.
