At Nestlé, we are dedicated to provide delicious and nutritious food and beverage
products to consumers all over the world. With more than 2,000 brands, including Nescafé,
KitKat, Gerber, Purina, etc. We offer a wide range of products to suit every taste and need. Our
presence in 191 countries allows us to connect with consumers on a global scale, while our
commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing ensures that we are making a positive
impact in the communities where we operate. We are proud to be the world's largest food and
beverage company and look forward to continuing to serve our consumers for many years to
come.
Nestle is a production company that has one of the biggest logistics networks in the
world. This company produces mainly foods and drinks. It produces different brands totaling
more than 8,000 brands all over the world. Logistics is the management of products produced
by a company from their origin that is the raw materials to the consumption point. Logistics
helps every company meet customers’ and organizational needs. Logistics manages both
abstract and physical items. Nestle’s logistics department is responsible for ensuring raw
materials are available at the production point whenever they are needed and ensuring
customers get the final products at the right place and time. This is the responsibility of every
other effective logistics department.
Implementing logistics enables Nestle’s order processing system to be efficient because
it always ensures that all orders are processed within the shortest time possible. It reduces the
order cycle to save time and data protection, and sharing mechanism ensures that every
department has the correct updated information to avoid confusion during order processing.
Nestle company has the best system because it is one of the best companies hence it needs to
be in a leading position.
Nestle’s order processing system is modern, and it uses current technology to ensure
each order is processed using the shortest time possible. The system is effective and efficient
because it’s in rare cases that customers complain that they have not received what they
ordered. Most of the current modern order processing systems are efficient and effective
because they save time, resources, and data are not easily lost. To increase customer
satisfaction, nestle company should reduce some of the processes in the current order
processing system by automating them to reduce the order cycle.
Tracking of orders should be done by Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) to ensure
that tracking does not need any communication, every time the goods can be monitored
without any communication. Radio Frequency Identification technology does not depend on
online-of-sight scanning or direct contact this makes tracking easy and effortless. It is the
alternative option to the bar code in companies today. Currently, the challenge in the
company’s inventory management is the time used in order picking. A lot of time is wasted at
this point of the order cycle which can be reduced to increase responsiveness which will
increase customer satisfaction. This can be achieved through the use of automated robots
which will help in picking, carrying, packaging, and loading of products at the pickup points.
Nestle company has probably one the largest supply chains in the world hence it needs
a perfect team for logistics management to ensure efficiency is attained. Every department in
an organization is crucial because without its other departments will not function well. The
logistics department operates smoothly when the accounting, production, finance, and
marketing departments are functioning well. Nestle company has a modern order processing
system that uses EDI and the internet, but they need RFID to ensure order tracking is effective.
Nestle company inventory management is effective but with the use of robots it can move to a
new level other multinational companies envy, and it will reduce order picking time. With these
improvements, nestle company will continue being the best multinational production company.
