This is a story of freedom and of triumph!

Something happened… after so many days and nights of having been alone in silence and in
total darkness a miracle unfolded!
A tiny creature had just broken loose from the grip of loneliness, from the grip of bitterness
and utter sadness!
Trying to adjust itself to its surrounding, the creature saw things of different colors, sizes, and
shapes. It stretched out its wings. It fluttered slowly at first, then kissed the flowers along the
way!
The beautiful roses greeted her… calling the creature… a magnificent yellow butterfly! The
yellow butterfly waved back, nodded, and smiled in return.
Just then, the yellow butterfly caught sight of a green caterpillar inching its way through the
green leaves. She stared at it for a long time. Now she remembered clearly the events that had
transpired in her life.
She was once a caterpillar. One day, she met a creature called a black snake. Way back then,
she could not help but admire the shiny flawless skin of the refined black snake. The way it
glided smoothly and gracefully; it was a sight to behold!
But the snake was so mean to her. The black snake called her a freak! Every time they come
across each other, the black snake would shout names at her calling her… an ugly worm ! …
an ugly maggot! … a freak !
She couldn’t contain any longer the embarrassment brought about by the ugly remarks from
the shiny, almost perfect, black snake, so she hid herself deep into a green leaf.
Just then, she heard the rustle of the green grass underneath the shrub. She caught sight of the
black snake, and shouted at it. The black snake looked up and admired her attractive yellow
wings. It stared in awe at her magnificence! It gave a loud hiss of approval at her elegance!
The snake asked if they could be friends. The yellow butterfly replied that they can be good
friends, only if he would befriend all the caterpillars in the garden.
And that, the yellow butterfly recounted how the snake made bad remarks against her. now
she had been transformed into a magnificent yellow butterfly!
