HISTORY OF THE DAILY DRIP COFFEE

Coffee plays an essential role in our daily lives, as we live in a busy society it
is better to have a ready-to-go coffee as it replaces our breakfast. Coffee plants were
discovered in Ethiopia around the 10th or 11th century, where coffee was first made
from coffee plants and quickly spread to Yemen, where coffee plants were also
found. The coffee plant produces between 1.4 and 2.5 kilos of berries per year. A
simple coffee plant therefore already produces a considerable number of berries.

A good cup of coffee is by far the most popular drink in the Philippines, the fact
that coffee is so popular today due to its wonderful aroma, the easy way of brewing,
and the caffeine that helps people live and be energetic. Nevertheless, coffee should
be consumed moderately, mainly the traditional hot brew coffee releases acidity that
may associate with indigestion, heartburn, and other gastrointestinal symptoms.
Some studies suggest it is better to take a cold brew coffee as it has lower acidity
than its hot brew counterparts, and thus may be a better alternative for those who
suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms.

Cold brew coffee is a popular phenomenon that has recently invigorated the
coffee industry, particularly in the warm summer months. We choose cold brew
coffee as our product that we called “THE DAILY DRIP COFFEE”. We come up with
this product because Filipinos love coffee that has different variety of flavors and
tastes. Considering that the Philippines is a tropical country thereof cold brew coffee
is much ideal. Cold brew coffee is much more beneficial to the body as it has
generally characterized as smooth, low-acid, and heavier than its hot-brewed
counterparts.

We named our product “THE DAILY DRIP COFFEE” as it represents every

Filipino that loves to drink coffee and remains the go-to drink that helps fuel their
entire day and boost energy. For Filipino, coffee is more than just a drink, therefore
we offer a ready-to-go drink that will surely love by Filipino.

Despite containing less caffeine than Robusta,

Arabica beans are often considered superior in
taste. Arabica tends to have a smoother,
sweeter taste, with flavor notes of chocolate and
sugar. They often also have hints of fruits or
berries. Robusta, on the other hand, has a
stronger, harsher, and more bitter taste, with
grainy or rubbery overtones.
 It is rich in phytonutrients and
antioxidants
 It packs useful vitamins and minerals
 It is a great source of electrolytes and
hydration.

Caramel sauce is a delicious topping for various

coffee drinks. It’s made from sugar and water
that are heated until they turn into a thick, amber-
colored syrup. Then, some cream is added to

Fructose has many functional properties that

improve foods and beverages. It enhances fruit
and spice flavors, prolongs product freshness,
aids in fermentation, provides product stability,
and promotes cooked flavors and surface
browning in baked goods.
There are benefits to using fructose as a
sweetener including how fructose carries a
lower glycemic load, or glycemic index, meaning
it doesn't cause a rapid rise and subsequent
large fall in blood glucose levels.

Adding fats from milk change the texture of

coffee, making it thicker and, when done well,
giving it a velvety smoothness. The proteins in
milk soften coffee's bitterness by binding to
polyphenolic compounds, such as tannins.
Adding milk to your coffee can have an anti-
inflammatory effect. The combination of
proteins and antioxidants, in particular
polyphenols, is believed to double the anti-
inflammatory properties in immune cells.

INDIVIDUAL NARRATIVE REPORT

NAME: GLAIDEL ALQUIZAR

The moment that we start making our business proposal from gathering ideas
into finalization. At first, we are challenged about picking the best product because
many of the students already made the product idea before. We think deeply about
what will be the best product for our business plan that's why we came to the point of
thinking about what the millennial do before or after their work. And we found out that
most of the things they do to have Coffee, and that is the product we choose for our
business plan the Cold Brew called THE DAILY DRIP COFFEE”. Making the best
quality for our product making which is coffee that still plays a vital thing that every
Filipino people do.

As we make our research, we experience a lot of difficulties which gives us

learn about starting a business and encourages us not to neglect every opportunity
that we already learn from this business plan, we are still in the process of making it
possible in the future. As we make our product in a good way, we generate the
things or ingredients which are needed for our product. We measure what will be the
best thing to do for this product and calculate the cost of all listed ingredients for our
product. We do also the pricing so that we can easily think of the best price for it. We
use social media as our effective marketing tool because we know that this will be a
great impact on our product as our business plan proposal. This will help our product
spread easily to the customer and that will be a good thing for us. Helping our team
to make our business plan effective is a great honor because in this way we can
think more positively and make our product possible for everyone.

Cold brew coffee is the product that we agreed on in our business proposal. It
was a tough process that we've gone through together with the members before
coming up with the decision that we deemed the best. The business planning
commenced by conducting our first meeting with the intent of brainstorming to
generate ideas for our desired product. We jot down notes of what are the products
that each member suggests. At first, we are challenged about picking what are the
best products as there are so many factors to consider including that there are also
other groups and we must avoid having the same product as them. So, we come up
with suggestions like food, native products, and more. After analyzing and
eliminating some of the prospective products that are less likely possible to make,
the members agreed in unison to have the coffee as our product. From then on, we
focused on the coffee alone and decided to serve it as a cold brew coffee. Then, we
made a vote in choosing the best title for our product and the majority choose "Daily
drip coffee". After that, an assigned member did a canvas on raw materials and listed
the prices to be used in manufacturing. We started creating our business proposal
document by researching first some guidelines that can help our paper to be in
progress. Then, we begin creating chapter two which includes our business concept
and business model, business goals: vision, mission, objectives, and performance
targets. After that, we make our chapter three which is the product and a service that
includes our product, what is our product, what it looks like, its features, and what
would be the ingredients that are used in our cold brew coffee and also its the
packaging. Moreover, we also indicate their what services we could offer, the quality
of our product, and services that would satisfy the taste and like of our customers.
Furthermore, chapter three contains the actual potential market size that describes
the entire size of the market for a product that can be available in different areas and
the actual potential of our target market. Lastly, the distribution of the product to the
buyer as well as the marketing strategy to reach out to our potential buyer takes
place. It is indeed a long process but we learned so many things and had so much
fun in the making of this business proposal.

NAME: HES JHEN BARRIO

In running our business, I've discovered that teamwork is preferable to

working by yourself. We've faced a variety of challenges in our firm and had the
ability to be vulnerable with one another. The issues we ran into along the process
serve as a reminder that there are still alternatives that may work, we just need to be
thoughtful and careful with the sake of our own business. We have a fantastic
relationship when it comes to realizations and learning. Our business is the force that
has brought us back together. We also earned an important amount of money from a
single contribution. A great business is built on teamwork, cooperation, and hard
work.

Business is business. Slouching will not help you grow. Get up and work. We
understood all along that doing business was not as simple as we thought.
Cooperation, teamwork, and hard effort are all required. It was difficult for us as
business students and first-time business owners. And when I said difficult. I'm
talking about time management because it was the most difficult thing for me. We
must study while running the business. Make dream catchers after reviewing notes
and doing activities. Listen to our teachers before taking orders, producing orders,
and delivering them. It was stressful but also entertaining. Finally, we need to work
together as a group to be more productive in the business we conduct. We must
trust them and offer them guidance as necessary. Furthermore, we must be
business minded in order to expand the business we construct, because the
business we founded will not grow if our minds are not prepared to deal with the
issues and hardships of our firm.

NAME: MAICA BASIGA

Making this business proposal is not easy, we encountered difficulties in

making the product. The materials needed are important because it is important to
research the best ingredients to perfect the cold brew coffee especially since we
promote a quality product. Cold brew is a very long process but worth it. Because
you can see the best result of the product. To make this product a reality, we
researched the necessary materials, to effectively sell our product through social
media, we develop marketing. To market our product more effectively and to let our
family or friends know about it, by doing so, we can raise awareness of the
marketability of our product. and also, teamwork is important in business we can
create this product and improve our expertise and abilities for this business idea.
26

NAME: GINAMAE BUSTAMANTE

In our business proposal, I couldn’t say that it was the best product that we
proposed, and we encountered difficulties in producing it. We have a business
named ‘The Daily Drip Coffee’ and our product is coffee. On our first day, I didn’t
know where to start as a member, but with the help of our group mates, especially
our leader, we came up with this product. At first, it was hard because we didn’t
know how to manage it properly. In production, we encounter some problems when it
comes to the materials and ingredients that will be used in producing cold brew
coffee. We knew all along that doing business was not as easy as we thought. We
need to study through research the effectiveness of our product at the same time
that it will have good quality and impact on the consumer. On the other hand, to
come up with an effective result, we need to have a market strategy that involves
using social media platforms to advertise our product. It appears that social media is
an effective tool as we introduce our product, especially to those consumers who
usually consume coffee every day. All in all, I do appreciate the importance of
teamwork, especially to our leader, who managed and assigned tasks, and her
patience given that this requires a group effort. The knowledge and benefit that we
can acquire from this business proposal we can also use in the future.
27

NAME: CHAYRIL P. CABAÑERO

Making a business proposal was not easy for me because I have no

experience, especially in making cold brew coffee and also, we need to research to
preserve our product. The first thing we do is create a group chat to communicate
about our tasks and business. During the process of making cold brew coffee, I'm so
excited what is the result when the product is done it is not easy to do it but with the
help of my teammates, we finally made it and I've so much enjoy to do task although
it was bit difficult for us because we also have a lot to do in other subjects. In making
our product we gain more knowledge and skills and I can't believe it for the first time I
experience we made our own product. When we make our business proposal it's not
easy to do but it takes a long time or a few days before we finish our task because
we still have other things to attend to in our other subjects. We encountered
problems in making our task but because of the teamwork and cooperation of my
teammates, we provide a solution and some strategies or techniques to finish our
task. And I'm so happy and grateful to be part of this team and I realize that working
together as a team is the best asset no matter how difficult it is.
28

NAME: JOCELYN MAE CABRERA

Making this business proposal is not an easy task as there are circumstances
that may occur during the process. The materials needed are crucial as it is
important to have some research on the best ingredients to perfect the cold brew
coffee especially since we are promoting a quality product. We thoroughly search for
the best way to preserve the cold brew as possible as 7 days, and the studies that
help us to make this business proposal possible. Making a good quality coffee drink
is crucial as it goes through checks on the beans that we will be using and the right
grinding process to have a low-acid coffee. The process was tiring at the same time
we are learning so much, researcher and learning the skill of making cold brew is a
very long process but it is worth it as you see the product result.

During the process of making this product possible, we canvas the items
needed and listed the prices of each ingredient to be used in manufacturing, and
come up with a plan on how we can market this product. We come up with market
strategies for using social media as an effective tool to market our product. It is also
important to have networks too, to have a better strategy for marketing our product
so we introduce our product to our friends and family to spread the awareness that
this product exists in the market. Through our teamwork, we make this product
possible and gain more knowledge and skills in making this business proposal.
29

NAME: VINA MARIE CAJERAS

Making a business proposal is a time-consuming process that cannot be

rushed. Our group decided that every one of us must do our individual tasks for
products in business marketing since we are apart from our groupmates because of
the long weekend and holy week, and some of us are on vacation. We decided to
create a group chat exclusively for our group for us to communicate and plan what
are the possible products we can sell that will remain in the marketplace, and we
started with a brainstorming session that can feel like a daunting process.

For this business proposal, I have several tasks. The first task I completed
was to identify the goal of our company, which is a coffee drink. We took advantage
of the holy week and long weekend to create a sample product of our coffee, and we
thoughtfully prepared and served beautiful, intriguing, and special seasonal coffees
to a community of people who inspire, encourage, and drive us. In order for our
company to gain customers, we must consider a variety of marketing strategies.
Making our own business is difficult because there are many steps to take and
processes to follow in order to make it an effective and successful business. We
need to put in our dedication to make our coffee drink get a lot of customers, and we
also need to see the impact of our work, which includes constantly trying to figure
things out, seeing positive and appreciative reactions, and many other things.

Making business proposals is not really easy, because you encounter some
difficulties in producing the product and there is much more that needs to be done to
make it look good, also the outcome of the product, then the important thing is the
materials that you need to use is right for it. And we did some research about, what
are the best ingredients for our cold brew coffee to make it taste and look good. Also,
you need to think carefully about what is good for your product and it can easily
attract many people encourage to buy it. The processing of this product is very long
and it was quite difficult and tiring for me because it is my first time doing it but at the
same time, I also learned because I was able to research how and what to do. We
work together to make our product called cold brew coffee. It is worth all the hard
work and effort to make a product when you see the result or the outcome.
