Determination of weight of Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate EXP.NO.1 PREPARATION OF M/20 SOLUTION
(FAS)
OF MOHR’S SALT

Aim:-

To prepare 250 ml of M/20 solution of Mohr’s


Molarity = W x 1000/ M x V salt.
Weight of FAS = Molarity x Mol.mass x 250/1000

Weight of FAS = 0.05X 392X250/1000


Materials required:-
Weight of FAS = 4.9g
Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate crystals, weighing
balance, 250 ml standard flask, distilled water,
funnel, wash bottle and H2SO4.

Procedure:-

The calculated quantity of Ferrous Ammonium


Sulphate crystals were taken in weighing
balance accurately. The crystals were
transferred into 250 ml standard flask using
funnel. A small amount of distilled water was
added using a wash bottle to dissolve the
crystals.

20 ml of 2N H2SO4 acid was added to prevent


hydrolysis of ferrous ions. Sufficient amount of
distilled water was added to standard flask in
order to make up the volume of 250 ml.
Calculations were done to determine the actual
molarity of the solution prepared.

Result:-

The molarity of FAS solution is found to be


0.05M

EXP.NO.2 PREPARATION OF M/40 SOLUTION
OF MOHR’S SALT

Determination of weight of Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate Aim:-


(FAS)
To prepare 250 ml of M/40 solution of Mohr’s
salt.

Materials required:-
Molarity = W x 1000/ M x V Ferrous Ammonium Sulphate crystals, weighing
Weight of FAS = Molarity x Mol.mass x 250/1000 balance, 250 ml standard flask, distilled water,
funnel, wash bottle and H2SO4.
Weight of FAS = 0.025X 392X250/1000
Procedure:-
Weight of FAS =2.45g
The calculated quantity of Ferrous Ammonium
Sulphate crystals were taken in weighing
balance accurately. The crystals were
transferred into 250 ml standard flask using
funnel. A small amount of distilled water was
added using a wash bottle to dissolve the
crystals.

20 ml of 2N H2SO4 acid was added to prevent


hydrolysis of ferrous ions. Sufficient amount of

(FAS) OF MOHR’S SALT

Aim:-

To prepare 250 ml of M/50 solution of Mohr’s

Determination of weight of oxalic acid EXP.NO.4 PREPARATION OF M/20 SOLUTION
OF OXALIC ACID

Aim:-

Molarity = W x 1000/ M x V To prepare 250 ml of M/20 solution of Oxalic


acid.
Weight of oxalic acid = Molarity x Mol.mass x 250/1000

Weight of oxalic acid = 0.05X 126X250/1000


Materials required:-

Weight of oxalic acid =1.576g Oxalic acid crystals, weighing balance,

250 ml standard flask, distilled water, funnel,


wash bottle and H2SO4.

Procedure:-

The calculated quantity of oxalic acid crystals


were taken in weighing balance accurately. The
crystals were transferred into 250 ml standard
flask using funnel. A small amount of distilled

OF OXALIC ACID

Determination of weight of oxalic acid Aim:-

To prepare 250 ml of M/40 solution of Oxalic


acid.

OF OXALIC ACID

Aim:-
Determination of weight of oxalic acid
To prepare 250 ml of M/50 solution of Oxalic
acid.

Materials required:-

Oxalic acid crystals, weighing balance,
Weight of oxalic acid = Molarity x Mol.mass x 250/1000
