Conic section, also called conic, in geometry, any curve

produced by the intersection of a plane and a right
circular cone. Depending on the angle of the plane relative
to the cone, the intersection is a circle, an ellipse, a
hyperbola, or a parabola.

A conic section, conic or a quadratic curve is a curve

obtained from a cone's surface intersecting a plane. The
three types of conic section are the hyperbola, the
parabola, and the ellipse and the circle is a special case of
the ellipse, though it was sometimes called as a fourth type.

An arithmetic sequence has a constant difference

between each consecutive pair of terms.

A geometric sequence has a constant ratio

between each pair of consecutive terms.
Arithmetic is a mathematical operation that deals with
numerical systems and related operations. It’s used
to get a single, definite value.

The word “Arithmetic” comes from the Greek word

“arithmos,” which meaning “numbers.” It is a field
of mathematics that focuses on the study of numbers
and the properties of common operations such as
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

A geometric sequence is a collection of integers in

which each subsequent element is created by
multiplying the previous number by a constant factor.

A series can be represented in a compact form,

called summation or sigma notation. The Greek
capital letter, ∑ , is used to represent the sum.

Sigma notation is a method used to write out a long

sum in a concise way.

A simple method of writing infinite numbers of terms in

a sequence is known as summation notation or sigma
notation.
Mathematical Induction is a powerful and elegant
technique for proving certain types of mathematical
statements: general propositions which assert that
something is true for all positive integers or for all positive
integers from some point on.

Mathematical Induction is a technique of proving a

statement, theorem or formula which is thought to be true,
for each and every natural number n. By generalizing this in
form of a principle which we would use to prove any
mathematical statement is 'Principle of Mathematical

Induction'.

The study of angles and of the angular relationships

of planar and three-dimensional figures is known as
trigonometry.

The trigonometric functions (also called the circular

functions) comprising trigonometry are the cosecant ,
cosine , cotangent , secant , sine , and tangent .

Trigonometry is a branch of mathematics

concerned with relationships between angles and
ratios of lengths.
