Statement of Purpose

My name is Muhammad Adeel son of Abdul Majeed born on 1 st April 1998 in Multan, Pakistan. I
am delighted to apply for Master of Business Analytics at Deakin University, Australia.
Regarding my educational background, I have completed my matriculation (Science group) from
Govt. Islamia High School, Daulat Gate Multan in 2013 and my intermediate (Humanities group)
from Govt. Emerson College, Multan in 2015 with an A grade. Following my intermediate, I
completed BBA Banking & Finance from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan in November,
2019 with a CGPA of 3.10 out of 4. After completion of my bachelor’s degree, I worked as an
Account Officer at HONDA, Multan (PVT) Limited from January 2020 to September 2020. After
that, I am working as a Graduate Trainee Officer at Bank Al Habib Limited from October 2020 to
till date.
During my work experience, I realized that a bachelor’s degree from a local institute is not
enough to get a promotion and to excel in my career as local market of Pakistan is saturated
with local graduates. I decided to pursue my master’s degree from a recognized university in an
advanced country and for that purpose, I have given PTE examination in July 2022. I have
selected Master of Business Analytics because I want to increase operational effectiveness. And
aid companies in better understanding their clients. This degree will allow me to make business
predictions about the future through data visualization. This degree will enable me to keep an
eye on profitability, manage goods and inventories, meet consumer requests, enhance financial
management, and deliver crucial and timely information to banks, partners, investors, and
other essential stakeholders.
I am not pursuing my studies in Pakistan because curriculum and teaching methodology in
Pakistan isn’t comparable with any universities in USA, Germany and Australia. Level of courses
is not adequately advanced to cope with advanced international practices. Hence, none of the
Pakistani universities is even in top 100 universities of the world. Degrees earned from USA,
Germany and Australia are internationally recognized, therefore are accepted globally,
especially in Pakistan and Middle East countries with utmost preference. To broaden my
horizon and become acceptable by top-tier organizations I have decided to sink my teeth into
Master of Business Analytics at Deakin University, Australia.
Selecting a foreign destination was quite difficult for me as I had many options to study abroad
and I made a comprehensive research on USA, Germany and Australia. I compared all these
study destinations. The cost of education in the USA is very high. The huge tuition cost
difference between USA and Australia prohibited me from going to the USA for my master’s
degree. Germany has free education, but it is not an English-speaking country. Because of this
language barrier I did not consider Germany as my future destination. I have prioritized
Australia for my master's degree because its education system is innovative and providing
students with best practical knowledge of industry.
Compared to the above countries, Australia is overall a balanced destination in terms of
education, living standards, and affordability. There are certain reasons that instigated me to
choose Australia as it is the 3rd most popular destination for international students as a lot of
students from around the globe are heading towards Australia for their higher education and it
makes a very interactive learning environment that builds interpersonal relations. Australian
education system across the country ensures the quality of education. Institutions offer
industry-focused course structures as per the requirements of the industry that is the reason
graduates are job ready. Universities are at forefront of research which depicts the level of
faculty teaching at the institutes. Universities use modern teaching and learning technologies
for interactive learning. Overall, the excellence of the Australian education system can be
judged by the fact that it has 7 out of top 100 institutes of world. In terms of living, Australia
offers an international standard living environment to all students. It has 5 out of 30 best cities
in the world for international students. Its climate matches that of my home country and it
would be easy for me to settle and study in a peaceful environment. Considering all the factors
and reasons above I have made an overall better decision to do my master’s degree from
Australia.
I also searched other universities online to apply like Monash University, University of Sydney,
University of New South Wales but the fee structure is quite high as compared to Deakin
University.
I have selected Deakin University as it is a dynamic and progressive community of lecturers,
researchers, students and staff, all bound together by their hunger for learning, innovation and
research. I decided to do my Master from Deakin University because with a repute for being
young and advanced, Deakin University offers admirable facilities and flexible learning. 5 stars
rated university, Deakin is ranked 32nd in the world in QS Subject ranking and 36th in the QS
top 50 under 50. Deakin University has won multiple awards with an international focus.

After completing my master’s degree, I will get a specialized and comprehensive understanding
of the current corpus of business analytics knowledge in order to conduct research, create
initiatives, and carry them out on your own initiative. I will be able to communicate complicated
business analytics findings to both specialists and non-specialists in an effective manner by
interpreting specialized information. I will have knowledge of business analytics technology,
including how to independently gather information, analyze challenging business data, and
share findings. I will be able to use specialized, highly developed critical and analytical thinking
and judgment to assess difficult commercial information. I will be able to gather, use, and retain
data so that it can aid in decision-making.
In Pakistan, there is a high demand for professionals in business analytics as they may play
different functions as needed to achieve company goals and objectives. While working with
data, business analytics is intimately related to several different personality types. Business
analytics has altered the processes used to find insightful insights and increase revenues only
with existing approaches in this cutthroat era. Businesses can tailor their interactions with
customers by using business analytics techniques. They can even incorporate client feedback
into the development of more profitable products. Nowadays, big businesses are vying for
market supremacy by applying useful business analytics technologies. There are many business
analytics tools on the market that provide tailored solutions to meet needs. To handle them,
companies need business analytics abilities, such as knowledge of statistics or SQL. After
completion of my master’s degree, I will come back to Pakistan and can start working as a
Business systems analyst, Business analyst, Senior business analyst in national or multinational
corporations: Nestle, Coca Cola, Proctor & Gamble, Toyota, Samsung, A.F. Ferguson & Co., BDO
Ebrahim & Co. Chartered Accountants. I can easily earn a six-digit salary ranging from 250,000
to 550,000 PKR whereas a local graduate earns no more than 80,000 PKR.
As far as my immigration history is concerned, it is stated that neither I nor my family has any
visa refusal history. I am single and will travel to Australia alone.
I don’t have any visa refusal. I have carefully read about Australian student visa conditions. I will
have to follow my visa conditions like I will have to enroll in registered course and maintain
satisfactory attendance. I will have to maintain my overseas health cover. I will inform my
university regarding my accommodation as I arrive in Australia. Work allowed is 40 hours per
fortnight. I will not indulge in any illegal activity which is harmful to Australian community.
My father is no more so my mother will support me during my entire stay at Australia. She is a
landlady and owns agricultural land. I am confident that I can easily afford the tuition fee and
living cost of Australia. Being the son, it is one of my duties to support my mother morally,
mentally, physically, financially, guide my sibling and help them in every aspect of life by
residing with them. My love for my family, my home and the responsibility of my mother leaves
no doubt that I will return to my country to take care of them in future.
