Glenn) Detention Center Dear Mr. Brovi: ‘Thank you forthe Remedial Action Plan dated April 14, 2023, in response to our Inspection Report on the Richland County (Alvin S. Glenn) Detention Center. That was then followed by your Supplemental Information dated April 17, 2023. We have been conducting a thorough review of all the input you provided on behalf of Richland County Council, of yourself, and of the Detention Center. We also received from your Architect on April 18, 2023, a set of updated drawings which were labelled as “Richland County ASG Visitation Center Conversion” pertaining to the proposed Visitation Building that would be created. We replied to the Architect on April 27, 2023 (see attachment), Our reactor to all pertinent input is detailed below. Willow Wedge Locking System 1t-was indicated that a purchase order has been issued for the acquisition and installation of ‘anew locking system to"... address the challenges with the older locks currently atthe detention center...” Both the vendor and the locking system were identified. Supplemental information was provided upon our request. All responses were deemed adequate, including confirmation that there ‘will be manual, key-operation override at the doors. We are concerned about the amount of time (essentially a full ear) that will be required to complete the project. However, we understand that it will presumably take that long to acquire the materials and perform all of the work.
