SCENE 1

When the screen is in black, appears in yellow numbers the

year where the scene it's ambiented: 1869. Then, we see two
hooded childs that are wearing a frayed costume (Guy 1 and Guy
2), walking on a selvatic and dark place, full of trees. Guy 1
is carying a lamp that illuminates the road, and Guy 2 has a
strange object in his hands.

GUY 1
OK, NOW YOU SHOULD HIDE IT UP HERE.

Guy 1 is showing Guy 2 a hollow under the ground. When Guy 2

is putting the strange object, some drums start to sound. They
both freak out, and Guy 1 throws the lamp because of the
panic.

GUY 1
WHAT’S THAT SOUND? DO YOU HEAR THAT SOUND? FROM WHERE DOES IT
CAME FROM?

GUY 2
I-I DON’T KNOW, BUDDY.

GUY 1
LET’S NOT WASTE MORE TIME, OK? WE’LL HIDE IT, AND THEN WE’LL
RUN.

Guy 2 hides the strange object on the hollow, and then the
both of them go away from the scene. The lamp that Guy 1
dropped, shows with its light the strange object: a game that
is named “Jumanji”. The drums stop to sound when scene 2
begins.

SHE SEEMS LIKE A NICE GIRL… BESIDES, I’VE HEARD REALLY GOOD
THINGS ABOUT HIS DAD AND THE MONEY THAT HER FAMILY HAS, SO…

MINI ALAN

Alan gets away from the office of his father and, for himself,
says:

MINI ALAN
Screw you, dad. It’s alwayss the same thing. The same thing!
SCENE 3

Alan is in a building in construction. He’s bored and looking

for something to play. Suddenly, drums start to sound. Alan
follows the sound, until he finds a strange object: the
Jumanji game. The drums start to sound even more. He puts the
game under his axilla and continues his way. The next dialogue
appears while Alan is going to Sarah’s house.

MINI ALAN
WOW!, THIS IS GONNA BE FUNNY: HEY SARAH!, DO YOU LIKE BOARD
GAMES? NO? COME ON!, I FOUND IT IN A CONSTRUCTION IT MUST BE A
GREAT ONE! (LAUGHS). YEAH… THIS IS GONNA BE GREAT.

Mini Alan is knocking the door, with too few pacience. Mini

MINI ALAN
IT’S A BOARD GAME! WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY IT?

MINI SARAH

But before she ends the sentence, mini Alan starts to unpack
the game. Mini Sarah takes the cardboard of the game with
esceptism. Mini Alan keeps organizating the game to play it.

MINI SARAH

MINI ALAN
SURE, THAT’S THE NAME OF THE GAME. IT’S KINDA FUNNY, ISN’T IT?

MINI SARAH
WHAT? WHERE DID YOU FIND IT?

MINI ALAN

WHEN, SUDDENLY, I FOUND A BUILING IN CONSTRUCTION, YA KNOW?
AND THERE WHERE DRUM NOISE’S.

MINI SARAH

Mini Alan has already prepared the Game.

MINI ALAN
THERE WE HAVE IT, NOW… WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?

MINI SARAH
MMM… I DON'T KNOW, I GUESS WE SHOULD ROLL THE DICE.

MINI ALAN
OK.
Alan drops the dice, then he looks at the board Game;
something has appeared THERE.

MINI ALAN
"IN THE JUNGLE YOU MUST WAIT, UNTIL YOU…". WHA-WHAT?

Mini Alan is surprised, Sarah also is. Then the Game, slowly
absorbes Alan. Sarah freaks out, yells, and then gets away
from his house.

SCENE 4

26 years later. Two kids are in a house.

KID 1
So… this is the house WHERE we are gonna Live?

KID 2
Yeah, i Guess so.

KID 1
God… I miss dad and mom.

KID 2
I know, I know…

They are kinda sad, but anyways go and look for something to
do. They're bored. While they are moving, drums start to
sound.

KID 1
Do You hear that too?
KID 2
Yeah, it's weird, isn't it?

KID 1
WHERE does it…?

KID 2

They go to the sound of the drums. THERE, they find the

Jumnaji Game. KID 1 takes it and start to unpacked it. KID 2
reads the manual.

KID 2
"ALL THE THINGS THAT HAPPEN IN THE GAME HAPPEN ALSO IN REAL
LIFE. SAY JUMANJI WHEN YOU END THE GAME"

KID 1
WOW, THAT SOUNDS REALLY CRAZY. SHOULD WE…?

KID 2
DO WE HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO?

KID 1
OH… WELL, YOU'RE RIGHT

They roll the dices. Some monkeys appear, and go away.

KID 1
CRAZY.

KID 2
Let's roll the dice again.
WHEN they roll the dices, Alan appears in the scene.

ALAN
Kids, why are You playing this dangerous Game?

KID 1
Because we were bored, I don't know…

ALAN
Yeah whatever, the point is that you are playing the Game that
my friend and I were playing a long Time ago. And if we want
to end this hell we SHOULD rescue the other player.

KID 2
If You Say so, wild man.

SCENE 5

Alan and the kids are now un the house of Sarah.

SARAH
Why are You here?

ALAN
Sarah, we need you to come back and end the Game that we
started.

SARAH
Alan, I don't think I can do it.

KID 1 (whispering to Alan)

Now we are screw?
ALAN
Don't think so.

Then, Alan makes a trick with the dice, to cheat Sarah.

Laughs.

SARAH
Alan! How could you!

ALAN
It’s for the good of the kids, Sarah. We need to end this.

SARAH
Jesus Christ! Ok.

SCENE 6

This is a montage of the team playing against a lion, monkeys,

jaws and a dinosaur. Then, the antagonist appears and makes a
visual contact with Alan. He scapes, same as all of the
animals, but Alan stays pensative.

ALAN
I think I know that guy, the one with a hat…

SARAH
Yeah, it kinda seemed similar to your dad. Or it 's just me?

ALAN
Sure. By the way, what happened with him?

SARAH
With your dad? Oh, honey… Your dad is dead.
Alan seems impacted by the news, kneels and cries. Sarah goes
and hugs him, so the kids.

SARAH
Sorry, honey.

KID 1 AND KID 2

We’re sorry too. You should miss him.

ALAN
Yeah. Whatever, he wasn’t the best dad either. (Talking to the
kids) What about your dad? Was him nice?

KID 2
Our parents are dead…

ALAN
Oh, yeah. Didn’t notice, sorry.

KID 1
It’s okay, it happened a long time ago.

ALAN
So… It seems like we are our family now, right? (They all
start to nod with their faces). That means that since now, we
need to protect each other, no matter what.

KID 1
Yes.

KID 2
Yes.
SARAH
Yes. And by the way, it seems like we are gonna end the game.

KID 2
Wow! You’re right

KID 1
About that… I’ve got an idea, but I need Sarah and my sister
to make it work.

SARAH
Sure. Alan, you should stay here and wait for us. Can you do
that?

ALAN
Of course. It is gonna be good for me, anyways. I have a lot
of things to think about.

SARAH
Thanks, honey.

Sarah and the kids go away from the scene; Alan stays in the
scene with a pensative face.

SCENE 7

The game is in the center, and around it are Sarah and the
kids.

SARAH
So… What’s your big idea?

Kid 1 rolls the dice.

KID 1
I think this should work.

But it didn’t work. He turns into a monkey and some monkeys

come to visit the protagonists, so as the dinosaurs and all
the beasts that they already had to fight with.

SARAH
Honey, what did you do?

KID 1
He-he… I may have cheated to the game, but it didn’t work,
certainly. Sorry.

They go to the place where Alan is, because it is the same

place where the animals are going to. Leading the animals,
there is the antagonist.

SCENE 8

Alan is on the floor when the antagonist, and all the animals,
come. Alan stands up.

ANTAGONIST
There you are.

ALAN
I knew you will come.

ANTAGONIST
And I know you will be dead, Alan.

ALAN
Wait. How do you know my name, and why does your face seem
familiar to me?
Antagonist laughs.

ANTAGONIST
Because, Alan… I am your father.

Alan also laughs.

ALAN
Of course you’re not. He would never do this.

Then Sarah and the kids appear, and drop the game to Alan.

SARAH
Alan, honey, if you roll the dice all of this hell will be
over. We’ll be back again into reality and our lives will be
happy again!

Alan focuses his eyes into the eyes of the Antagonist for a
moment.

ANTAGONIST
Don’t you dare! I’ll shoot you if you do it.

Alan (with a smile)

You’re not real. Non of this is.

ANTAGONIST
How you…!

ALAN
Jumanji.
After that single word, all the characters of the scene slowly
disappears, even the kids, Sarah, and Alan.

SCENE 9

There are MINI ALAN and MINI SARAH looking at their faces in
the same room where they played as kids, but there is no game
between them.

MINI ALAN
Sarah?

MINI SARAH
Alan?

The dad appears at the door. Alan goes and hugs them with a
lot of happiness.

MINI ALAN
Dad!

DAD
Alan! I’ve been looking for you for a long time. Where have
you been?

MINI ALAN
I think… lost. I’ve just been lost, dad.

DAD (laughing)
Well, you guys were really lost, then… Hey, Alan, about what I
said to you, it’s not true. I was just really upset with those
guys, you should…
MINI ALAN
It’s okay, dad. Whatever you know I will know it. Like father,
like son, right?

DAD
Right. Like father, like son.

They all smile to the camera, and then go to have dinner,

while they start to talk about other things and the noise
slowly goes away. Then Alan starts to talk.

ALAN (V.O.)
That day, that long day where I discovered Jumanji I also
discovered something that, funny thing, wasn’t related to the
game at all. I discovered that family and friends, who are the
family that we create and select, are the most important
thing, that we should appreciate every single moment of our
lives. Because, you never know when a board game is going to
suck you, and you will never see them again. That day I
discovered that family is the most important thing.

Then, drums start to sound, and the credits roll down.
