thus allowing quick access to the associated functions. The toolbars can be
dragged by their title bar and positioned anywhere on the screen.
Project Navigator The project navigator displays an overview of all the objects contained in the
project. All defined objects (devices, drives, axes, etc.) are displayed in a tree
structure.
The detail view displays additional information about the selected object.
Work Area The job-specific windows are displayed here. The tasks themselves are
performed in these windows, e.g. configuring and programming.
Detail View Further information about the object selected in the project navigator is
displayed in detail view (e.g. program variables, system variables for a
technology object, logs when source code is compiled).
SIZER Using the SIZER tool, you engineer the motors and the new Siemens drive converters
based on the load calculation (import, input), define the required components and initiate the
order via SAP
CA01 / Using the SD configurator, you define the ordering data of the motor with Z options and
SD Config. then you obtain the complete pre-sales documentation. Z-options for the motor are in SIZER
Using the CA01 you complete your order by adding additional components and then if you are
not using SIZER, you initiate your order via the Siemens Mall or SAP.
With this tool you engineer the motors and MASTERDRIVES drive converters based on
PATH Plus the load calculation and define the required components. Load duty export for SIZER.

Help functions
A drive system is engineered in specified design steps. Each design step is executed mask-prompted.
Progress can be followed at all times. This means that no entries will be
forgotten. A help system provides explanations for all of the entries and
supports the user when selecting a suitable drive configuration for his particular
application. Existing engineered systems can be easily modified for new drive
applications by changing the data and saving under another name. Copy and
Paste of drives and axes and shifting of axes from one drive system to another
is supported. The Guided Tour is included in the help topic Getting started and
helps you to get familiar with SIZER.
Output / results
SINAMICS MICROMASTER SIZER provides documentation for each designed drive system. This
includes the characteristics, the technical data, installation drawings for
SINAMICS S120 and a parts list. For most of the motors, dimension drawings
can be generated and exported in DXF or bitmap format. The results can be
printed-out. A data export function enables the data to be exported to the
ordering system SAP-VSR or Microsoft EXCEL directly.

Control Panel You can use the control panel to monitor and modify process values, (setpoint
and actual value speed, setpoint and actual position, etc.) for individual axes.
This allows you to traverse axes or drives.
It is necessary to have master control on the PC to be able to traverse an axis.
To obtain master control, the SIMOTION device must be in "STOP_U"
operating mode with the selected axis. This operating mode must be set on the
SIMOTION device.
To open the control panel, double-click in the project navigator on the "Control
panel" object. The drive control panel is displayed in the detail view.
You can perform the following functions with the control panel:
• Test each part of the system individually, before the axes can be traversed
in a coordinated manner by the program.
• In case of error, debug to test whether the individual axes and drives can
be
traversed from the control panel, or whether there are already problems
here.
• "Retract" the axis: Move the axis quickly to another position without this
being part of the program.
• Traverse the axes for optimization purposes (controller optimization)
Selection Range You can choose the axis you want to monitor in the "selection range" of the
control panel in "monitoring mode". The selection list is not available in "control
mode".
• You can use this button to hide and display the "control area".
• You can use the button to hide and display the "monitoring area".
