Exasperated, the
Governor sentences me
to be crucified.

my cross.

5 Jesus bears the cross

(John 19: 6,15-17).
Too much to bear …

6 Simon the Cyrenian

(Mark 15: 21).
A pilgrim gave me a
hand. They call him,
‘Simon the Libyan’.

7 The women of Jerusalem

(Luke 23:27-31). The
women of Jerusalem
wept for me, all the way
to the east gates.

8 Oh, daughters of
Jerusalem, Don’t weep
for me! Weep for
yourselves and your
children. Remember the
prophet Hosea’s
warning; If they do this
to me, imagine what
they’d do to you.
9 Crucified. (Luke
23:33-34).
They are ready to crucify
me … the first nail …
then another … and
another … and then
another …

11 The crowd amuse

themselves with taunts

12 … even the terrorists

who die beside me are
in on it.

13 The good thief (Luke

23:39-43).
They shamelessly carry
on but I remain silent.
14 Realising what was
happening, the other
insurgent asked me to
remember him in my
kingdom.

15 ‘Today you will be with

me in paradise …’

16 Mother and the disciple

My family and close
friends were distraught.

17 I could see my mother

and John, inconsolable.
‘John, look after my
mother …’

18 Jesus dies (Luke 23:

44-49).
The sky darkens.
19 An earthquake rips
through the city …

20 ‘It is finished!’

21 Then I release my Spirit.
