UNITY STATEMENT

We, the Bishop, Clergy and Lay with a total number of 85 delegates coming from deferent
parishes within the Diocese of Samar gathered in the Parish of the Hoy Child, Marabut, Western
Samar on April 17-20, 2023. And by the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we are in common
understanding in pursuing church program for the welfare of the Diocese as one Koinonia
(fellowship) for Diakonia (service) of God and His People (pro Deo et Patria).

That, as community of faith, we must uphold Church teachings and doctrines thought by this
church, e.g; declaration of Faith and Articles of Religion (DFAR). Parish Leaders must stop
patronizing doctrines and teachings which the Iglesia Filipina Independiente does not teach.

That all programs set by this Diocese through Diocesan Covention must be implemented to all
parishes of the entire Diocese of Samar following the 8 Points Guidelines.

That Vicars in their respective vicariates must see to it that plans and programs are in proper
place. Census, Parish Mapping, and Indexing is vital and necessary to confirm accurately the
number of members to all parishes and missions in the entire Diocese of Samar.

That all parish sectoral organization must have their sectoral registration form in consolidating
their members. Sectoral organization of the respective parishes must intensify in organizing their
sectors following the consolidated program of the diocesan sectors. Parish Council must give
guidance in consolidating sectoral members in the parish and to accomplish the official list and
numbers of sectoral members.

Following the said programs set by the convention, Parish Leaders and faithful members are
instructed to support their Parish Priest being the chief executive in implementing programs and
plans within their respective parish assignment.

Therefore, we are hereby resolved to implement this unity statement to the entire Diocese of
Samar.

Be it resolved furthere, that 8 Points Guidelines must be in strict compliance througout the
Diocese.
