IN
TLE 10

My Reflection

TLE, a subject I wasn’t really best at, but a subject that I found interesting and enjoyable to learn.
I have no experience in some components in TLE such as gardening but I am always looking forward
to learn and enjoy in the process.
I wasn’t really a big fan of gardening nor I have any experience with it. But since it is essential in
TLE quarter 1, I had to do it for the sake of my grades. So far the garden my groupmates and I made
is quite decent, and the plants are growing well despite the first batch of seeds we planted did not
sprout. It is nice to see something we worked hard to take care of became healthy and is continuously
growing. The gardening taught me patience and learning how to take care of something delicate. It
also made me more interested towards gardening and now I am planning to make a garden at home.
This might become a new hobby of mine.

As for the lessons in TLE, I’ve learned something important about each one of them. First of all is
Horticulture. It taught me that there are different categories of horticulture and how gardening can be
diverse. I also learned about the different types of tools, implements and equipment for agriculture. It
is difficult to memorize each and every one of them and their uses, but after a while I got the hand of
it just by familiarizing each. Learning how to use them properly is very helpful to me since I am
unfamiliar with some of these tools, implements, and equipment, so this may be useful for me sooner
in life. Preparing materials, tools and equipment for horticultural work. Another lesson in TLE. It
taught me the importance of preparing and checking the materials, tools and equipment in order to
avoid minor and major injuries and to also know the Do’s and Dont’s in for machinery safety. Pre
operational checking of equipment, the lesson 3 of TLE also taught me the importance of preparing
and checking well. I may not use these as of now because I don’t do any machine-work nor I will be
using any tools. But I still find this information helpful because I can teach others around me. Manual
Handling made me aware of the risks laborious jobs have and how this information for manual
handling can certainly help in order to avoid various injuries in the workplaces. Lastly, PPE or
Personal Protective Equipment. Because of this lesson I’ve gained more appreciation towards PPE.
How these can lower the risk of most hazards and how this might even save a life.

So far that is all that I have learned. I am looking forward for our TLE advisor, Mr. Cedrex to
grade the garden of our group.
