1.What was the most useful thing you learned today?
The most useful things that I’ve learned last Monday are about the three types of learning disabilities which are Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia. Through the lesson, I got to know what are dysgraphia and dyscalculia aside from dyslexia that I am already familiar with. I also have the chance to know their differences, the signs, and what are the things you may do to help a child who has any of these three learning disabilities. Dyslexia is a reading-related learning problem. Dyslexic people have difficulty reading at a fast rate and without making mistakes. They may struggle with reading comprehension, spelling, and writing as well. While Dysgraphia is a learning condition that impairs one's ability to write. It can show itself as problems with spelling, bad handwriting, and difficulty putting thoughts on paper. On the other hand, Dyscalculia refers to a variety of mathematical challenges, including difficulties understanding the meaning of numbers and applying mathematical principles to solve problems. All of these three learning disabilities are lifelong conditions but there are many ways we can help those who have any of the said disabilities.
2. What two things remain unclear?
The only thing that remains unclear to me is about the Asperger syndrome. This is the first time I heard about this disorder that’s why it is unfamiliar to me. I want to dig deeper about its nature, signs, and its characteristic.
3. What would you like to know more about?
Upon knowing more about ADHD or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder which is a neurological condition that affects your ability to pay attention, sit still, and maintain control over your behavior and ASD or autism spectrum disorder which is a complex developmental disorder characterized by chronic difficulties with social communication, limited interests, and repetitive behavior I want to know if a person can possess or be diagnose with both of the said disorder. And what kind of help they are needed to receive.
