History Presentation

Janice

Good morning, teachers and classmates! Today, my group and I will be presenting our history
project. This is our project.

Clement

The materials we used are cardboard, fake grass, green clay, blue, purple and pink colour paper, toys
like soldiers and farm animals, painting materials, toothpicks, ice cream sticks and a square plastic
container.

Josh

We used the cardboard for the tower and the houses. The fake grass we use it in the Bailey. The
plastic container is covered with green clay. We use purple and pink paper to make the boats and
placed it on the moat, around the castle.

Vederick

We used the blue paper and crumble it. Then, we tear it and stick it on the base to make a moat. The
toys like soldiers and farm animals are placed in the Bailey, beside the houses and the stable. Lastly,
the toothpicks are used as a fence to protect the Normans and the English from any enemies.

Gerlinde

Normans have a way of building a castle called motte and bailey. Motte, known as mound, is a raised
hill where the keep was built to house the lord of the manor and his family. The keep is the tower on
the motte. Bailey is an enclosed courtyard, surrounded by a wooden palisade. This is where the
soldiers, servants and animals lived. There is a moat surrounding the tower. This will make it difficult
for intruders to attack or get inside.

Janice

One of the challenges I face is when I try to glue all the houses and stable, I made. I am worried that
it will fall off and ruin the whole project. Another one is when attaching all the toothpicks together
to make a fence around the keep. Since the bottom which is the motte, is made of clay, it will be very
hard for the toothpick to stand. So, I pressed the toothpicks hard on the clay and glue them together
so that it can stand firmly. Sticking around with the super glue and hot glue is the most challenging
part of the whole project. Thank you!
