Title: Causes and Effects of Procrastination among Students

Essay:

Procrastination is the deliberate postponement of decisions or actions. Laziness has little to do with
procrastination. Procrastination has various significant causes and effects. The most prevalent reason
is that they don't know where to begin. When students consider a project, essay, or assignment in
general, they may become frustrated rather than concentrate on the tiny details. As a result, people
frequently don't know where to begin. As a result, these pupils postpone the complete task till the
deadline arrives. Furthermore, study habits are weak. For example, kids frequently begin playing
online games during their after-school breaks, prompting them to postpone because it is difficult to
turn off their devices. As a result, procrastination makes you feel like you're always late.
Procrastination is a vicious circle. If you do nothing now, you will be stuck tomorrow. This leads to
more procrastination, making you feel even more behind.

Another reason is lenient deadlines. This causes delays because teachers frequently miss deadlines
and permits students to submit late without punishment. Students learn that deadlines aren't always
important and cease taking them seriously as a result. As a result, the students become sluggish and
unmotivated. People become indifferent and unmotivated as their levels of life satisfaction decline.
Furthermore, it may be caused to resistance. When students regard work as something they have to
do, they may postpone as a form of defiance. Procrastination became a form of protest after that.

 When kids consider homework to be a burden rather than an opportunity, it becomes tough for them.
This is why some pupils consider themselves failures. You are more inclined to postpone when
someone is stressed. We avoid work and take shortcuts when we are stressed. Some may even begin
to question their own abilities. When they doubt themselves, they begin to believe that they are not
smart enough, that they are inept, or that they are something else. This encourages even more
procrastination.
