2x2 photo must:

• Be in white background:
• Be taken within the last 6 months;
• No shadows, scratches, any marks or spots
seen on the applicant’s actual face;
• Not edited or scanned from the original
• Show applicant’s neutral face (not smiling)
• Show both eyebrows and ears

"No Eyeglasses Policy"

will go into effect November 1, 2016. Under this policy,
non-immigrant visa section will no longer accept
photographs of visa and passport applicants wearing
eyeglasses, except in rare, medically-documented
circumstances.
Please follow the photo specifications above whenever you
upload applicants’ photos on the DS-160.
