This had a light touch with crisp staccato notes and the hand crossing was managed well. It was fluent
although there were some fluctuations in pulse on occasion and the upper octaves were not found for the
ending. Whilst some of the dynamic contrasts were overlooked the atmosphere was generally achieved.

Pittarello: Viking Village from Piano Exam Pieces 2021-2023: Grade 1

The syncopated melody was understood at the start and this continued with a strong rhythmic character
until a little instability in judging the 'rit' at the end. It had secure accuracy of notes although gradations in
dynamics were not fully explored to depict the programmatic element of the piece.

This was flowing with a good sense of the legato lines although phrase endings were not always shaped.
Hands were co-ordinated well and it had secure fluency and accuracy throughout. There were some dynamic
contrasts and the Classical style was understood.

Technical Work:
Scales were all accurate and fluent and broken chords had good flow. 1b was fluent and mostly accurate
although the fading in dynamics was not entirely controlled at the end. 3b was rhythmic with some of the
detail but the key signature was not always remembered.

Performance Delivery and Focus:

The overall performance was delivered with some assurance and a good level of focus on the whole.
Transitions were smooth and well timed.

This showed an understanding of the different styles and these were contrasted accordingly although
personal expression was rather reserved at times.
