Lesson Plan

Teacher: Joemer Pineda Date: April 14, 2021

Subject: Electrical Time: 8:00 A.M.
Year/Section: JHS & SHS Room: 102

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 80% of the learners should be able to:
1. Explain the difference of Resistance, Voltage, and Current.
2. Appreciate the effects of ELECTRICITY in the environment.
3. Devise a plan to make the electricity work.

II. Content
A. Topic
Ohm’s Law

B. Materials/Equipment
Visual Aids, Powerpoint Presentation, Laptop, manila paper, sample wire.

C. References
https://www.allaboutcircuits.com/textbook/direct-current/chpt-2/voltage-
current-resistance-relate/ ,Internet.

III. Learning Experiences

A. Routine Activity (5mins)
 Classroom management
 Prayer
 Attendance

B. Motivation - Video (10mins)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-Yn4b9iClE

1. Use appropriate concepts, ideas, or examples.

2. Engage learners in structural learning activities.
3. The teacher motivates the students to listen and participate in the discussion.

a) ask the students how do they feel after watching the video?
(they may feel motivated because someone will lift them up in times of trial to
finish what they have started)

b) What do you think the reason why the man stopped from running in
one of the most important moment in his life?
(because his hamstring tore while he was running and he can’t continue to
run)
c) What’s in it for you knowing that someone will help you when you
stumble and unable to continue?
(there is an assurance that I can do all things because of that someone who
will help me. It might be my parents, my siblings, my friends, and most
specially God. I might fall but because of their help I will rise again and will
finish the race in my life.)

C. Activity (20mins)

1. Employed strategies that are appropriate to effectively facilitate learners understanding.

2. Use instructional materials that are appropriate and useful to learners understanding.
3. Employed assessment methods and tools that are consistent with the learning objectives.
4. Align the content within and across curriculum teaching areas.

Brainstorming

At the end of this activity the learners should be able to:

1. Explain the definition of electricity, current, voltage, and resistance.
2. Compare the difference of the term used in Ohm’s law.
3. Formulate an hypothesis on how electricity works.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Choose your group. (4 groups only)

2. Select a leader and secretary.
3. Choose any of the word (electricity, current, voltage, resistance), give its meaning
and symbol.
4. After looking for the definition, choose one from each group to present the
definition and the symbol in front of the class.
5. Write your answer in manila paper.
6. Do this in 20 minutes.

ELECTRICITY CURRENT VOLTAGE RESISTANCE

DEFINITIONS

Symbols

Electricity
- is the presence and flow of electric charge. Using electricity we can transfer energy
in ways that allow us to do simple chores.

Current
- is the movement of electrons through the wire. Electric current is measured in
amperes (I/A). Ampere is named after the French physicist and mathematician
Andre-Marie Ampere.

Voltage
- is the pressure from an electrical circuit’s power source that pushes the charged
electrons (current). It is measured in volts (V). Named after the Italian physicist
Alessandro Volta.

Resistance
- is a measure of the opposition to current flow in an electrical circuit. Resistance is
measured in ohms (R/Ω). Ohms are named after George Simon Ohm.

D. Abstraction/Generalization (5mins)

1. The teacher will ask directive and purposeful question/s

Question - Answer/Discussion

Ask the learners to answer the following questions. Allow them to share their
ideas in the class.

1. How does Electricity helped you in your daily activities in life?

(Learners may respond that electricity helped them to make things easier to be
done. Without Electricity people may suffer to do things manually. Gadgets and
appliances will not work without electricity)

2. How does the Current, Voltage and Resistance related to each other? Explain.
(current is the one that flows in a circuit, resistance is the one that “resists” or
blocks the flow of electrons, while voltage pushes the electrons to flow)

3. What will happen if electricity hasn’t been discovered by the people before us?
(New discoveries may not be discovered. Ideas may not brought up and The whole
world will be covered with darkness without electricity. Learners may share their
own ideas about how important Electricity is. Support what the learners would
say.)

E. Application (5mins)

1. The teacher will ask directive and purposeful question/s

Question - Answer/Discussion (5mins)

1. Describe a situation in your life in which you experience without electricity?

(Life is so hard without electricity. It is hard to study for tomorrow’s lesson if
electricity is out. I can barely move because it is so dark. Can’t use any of the
appliances and it will make you procrastinate the things you have to do on that
day.)

F. Assessment (15mins)

A. 1-5 items. (2 points each)

INSTRUCTION:
1. Rearrange the following words to create a correct word.
2. Give its meaning.
3. Do this in 15 minutes.
DEFINITION
1. SSTEEACRNI
2. RTENURC
3. LTVOAEG
4. EEYTTCICILR
5. WLAHOSM
