Bill Summary: I am Alanis Rodriguez, and I am proposing for San Jacinto Community College to pilot
the need for Animal Disposal Trashcans.

Project Name: San Jacinto College Scoops the Poop

Purpose: Receiving funding for proper Animal Disposal Trashcans is to aid the students, staff, and pets
on campus to have a cleaner and safer school environment.

Event Date: Wednesday, April 26, 2023

WHEREAS, On the San Jacinto Community College, Policy III.3006.C, Animals on College Property, it
is that “The college seeks to promote safety, health, and hygiene on College Property.” Service animals
are permitted on campus as they are registered and vaccinated. In which, service animals can not be
denied access to an area due to allergies or fear of dogs. As for emotional support dogs, they are permitted
to be on campus as they are registered and vaccinated.

WHEREAS, Alanis Rodriguez is an undergrad, Dual Credit for Clear Horizons Early College
Highschool student at San Jacinto Community College South Campus.

Student Recommendations Assignment: This policy is open to all students, specifically to service
animals regarding proper animal waste disposal.

WHEREAS, I am requesting funding for posters, trash can signage, and a designated area for the service
and emotional support animals on campus to dispose of their waste.

WHEREAS, in my presentation, I will explain the sanitary and safety benefits that having animal
disposal trashcans will have on the San Jacinto Community College South will have. As well as explain
how San Jacinto has been violating its own Policy III.3006.C, Animals on College Property by not
seeking to promote the safety, health, and hygiene on College Property.

THEREFORE BE ENACTED,
