What would you do if you knew you can commit any kind of crime?

Well, that happened in the film

“The First Purge” (2018). It belongs to the five-movie saga “The Purge”, being the prequel of all of
them, and being directed by Gerard McCurray and starring Y’lan Noel, Lex ScottDavis and other
famous and recognized actors.

This action movie tells us how the purge had place. With Staten Island, New York, as the scenery,
lots of people are protesting against a measure that the New Government wants to implement
because of crime rates have increased all across the country: all the citizens will be allowed to
commit any kind of crime, including murder. Nya and her friends belong to an anti-purge
organization, and they decided to stay at a church in the island and wait out the purge. Meanwhile
the New Goberment observed that most of the crimes are minor ones and not as violent as they
expected, so they sent mercenaries to kill people of a ghetto. Dmitry, brother of Nya, became the
hero of the movie when he saved lots of life killing most of the mercenaries.

Definitely this movie is a great film: it shows that even the government can become the villain of
the story, and that people just need an incentive to bring out the worst of in them.
