INTRODUCTION
ABOUT THE TOPIC

WHAT IS A DIGITAL MARKETING?

The term digital marketing refers to the use of digital channels to market products and services in order
to reach consumers. This type of marketing involves the use of websites, mobile devices, social media,
search engines, and other similar channels. Digital marketing became popular with the advent of the
internet in the 1990s.
Marketing refers to any activities that a company uses to promote its products and services and improve
its market share. In order to be successful, marketing requires a combination of advertising savvy, sales,
and the ability to deliver goods to end-users. This is normally undertaken by specific professionals or
marketers who can work internally (for companies) or externally with other marketing firms. Digital
marketing involves some of the same principles as traditional marketing and is often considered a new
way for companies to approach consumers and understand their behavior. Companies often combine
traditional and digital marketing techniques in their strategies.
There are many types of digital marketing that you can leverage to increase your audience reach. Using
multiple digital marketing channels can help you create a well-rounded strategy that will yield the best
results. Some of them are:

How to develop an effective marketing strategy?

For an effective marketing strategy it is necessary to know your competition and know that
what you offer to your clients has the added value that the competition does not have (FAB
ANALYSIS- features, advantages and benefits).

After this define your target market in a demographic and psychographic way, this will help
to know why they need to buy products / services from you.
There are several ways to make marketing strategies effective, so it is necessary to focus on
the most important communication channels (traditional and virtual media) and to be able to
carry out the strategies with a successful follow-up of the implementation of the strategies.

Establish the objectives and the process:

 Analyse the position in the market: identify the target audience, the competition
and what is happening in the company. In addition, define which are the strong
aspects and those that you should optimize
 Establish goals: create achievable brand and sales objectives and determine the
time frame to reach them
 Design the tactics: after you examine the landscape, create the lines of action
based on the strategies you know
 Implement controls: define how you will measure goal achievement and how you
expect performance to gradually improve

LITERATURE REVIEW
1. Bala et al. (2018) conducted a study on A CRITICAL REVIEW OF DIGITAL
MARKETING. Businesses can really benefit from Digital Marketing such as search engine
optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), content marketing, influencer
marketing, content automation, ecommerce marketing, campaign marketing, and social
media marketing, social media optimization, e-mail direct marketing, display advertising, e–
books, optical disks and games and are becoming more and more common in our advancing
technology. It is demonstrated that we all are connected through whatsapp and facebook and
the increasing use of social media is creating new opportunities for digital marketers to
attract the customers through digital platform. Awareness of consumer’s motives is
important because it provides a deeper understanding of what influences users to create
content about a brand or store.

2. Yasmin et al. (2015) conducted a study on Effectiveness of Digital Marketing


in the Challenging Age. Marketers are faced with new challenges and opportunities
within this digital age. Digital marketing is the utilization of electronic media by the
marketers to promote the products or services into the market. The main objective of digital
marketing is attracting customers and allowing them to interact with the brand through digital
media. Digital channel in marketing has become essential part of strategy of many
companies. Nowadays, even for small business owner there is a very cheap and efficient way
to market his/her products or services. Digital marketing has no boundaries

3. Mahalaxmi et al. (2019) conducted a study on A Study on Impact of Digital


Marketing in Customer Purchase Decision in Trichy. Mostly people prefer
shopping and electronic goods to buy through digital channels and its came to known from
the study that there is a rise in purchase of convenience goods through digital channels
among people. Effective reach of advertisements for convenience goods will increase the
sales of those goods through digital channels. The customers are satisfied with products they
bought through the digital channels this is considered as a positive sign for the growth digital
channels in customer purchase decision. The present study shows that the influence of the
digital channels not supporting in change of opinion of customer towards purchasing a
product, but in near future the digital channels influence the customer purchase opinion as
there is a consideration for digital channels among customers are evident. As mentioned
earlier this study made in particular region accurate results on the variables could not be able
to obtain. There exists a future scope to analyses the impact of digital channels on customer
purchase decision for a wider geographic area to obtain more accurate results.
4. Kaur (2017) conducted a study on THE IMPORTANCE OF DIGITAL
MARKETING IN THE TOURISM INDUSTRY. With the advent of superior
Internet technologies, newer avenues for reaching out to target audiences have evolved.
Digital marketing today has become an indispensable part of every business irrespective of
its size and type. The increasing role of digital marketing has affected the way businesses
promote their offerings to existing as well as new customers. The need for digital marketing
has been felt like never before in the tourism industry wherein customers have instant access
to all kinds of information on the latest offers and best prices. Digital Marketing today is all
about using the internet technologies to reach out to existing and newer audiences and engage
with them. Today digital marketing has disrupted industries and changed the way businesses
reached out to customers.

5. Mishra (2020) conducted a study on Digital Marketing:Scope Opportunities


and Challenges. With the onset of Internet reform and economic growth of country,
consumer expectation and need have formed a shape where comfort and delight service has
become vital criteria for product selection. Several brands in market keep working to
evaluate the changing need of consumers, developing suitable product and finding market
place to reach the right customer. This digital reform has paved a new marketplace on
Internet where everything and anything is available to explore and review and have a
virtual feel. India is a growing economy country and has been considered in the article to
brief the concept and scenario of different trends of digital marketing. The article will bring
insights into the scope of different digital trends and future scope. In the 2019 summit of
United Nations, leaders spoke about borderless economy reforms connecting new business
players to invest in growing economy country.

METHODOLOGY
RESEARCH DESIGN:
It is descriptive research that is used to describe the characterstics of population.

SAMPLING OF THE STUDY:


The purpose of a questionnaire is to analyze the consumers’s preferences, needs, and
thoughts. Their expectations for this are notable. This study was conducted in Delhi. This is
done to get feedback from people from different backgrounds and different financial
situations.

SAMPLE SIZE :
The sample size of questionnaire survey is 50 participants.

ANALYTICAL TOOLS:
Depending upon the nature of the data and study objectives suitable analytical tools will be
used.

SOURCES OF DATA COLLECTION:


For the intention to do the survey the questionnaire will be distributed through emails to 50
respondents from different strata of society mainly teenagers, businessmen ,etc.
