inside it. The cave system is divided into two main caves: The less challenging and
more scenic one is Wang Burma 1, with its unique rock formations comprising of
stalactites, stalagmites, and columns, and Wang Burma 2, which is physically and
mentally challenging with its dark hooks and turns, of narrow passages and muddy
tunnels, you will need to crawl or squeeze your way through to reach the amazing
water-worn rock formations in the inner part of the cave. It is believed to be home to
supernatural creatures and spirits. The cave has strange markings on the walls and
floors, and the air is humid and thick. Adventurous hikers have explored the cave
and discovered a hidden chamber full of ancient artifacts and relics. There are
numerous streams inside the cave as well. The Wang Burma Cave is divided into
two, one of which features stalagmites, stalactites, columns, and other rock
formations and is the easier one to walk through. The cave’s stalactites and
stalagmites resemble pillars, curtains, and cascades which were formed over
millions of years, it is a haven for potholing. The other cave has narrow passages,
muddy tunnels, and dark hooks and turns, beyond which are some beautiful rock
formations worn out by water. Despite its eerie reputation, Wang Burma Cave
remains a fascinating and unique destination for explorers and adventurers.

The exciting part of this cave is it links to Thailand as the mountain is shared
by two countries, Malaysia, and Thailand. With the wealth of the untouched
rainforest, you will be astonished by the beauty of nature and the cave's darkness.
To access Gua Wang Burma, you need to travel to Perlis State Park. The
department falls under the National Forestry Department. Tourists are advised to get
a qualified guide and permission from the Perlis Forestry Department before going
for the cave exploration. The total time to explore the entire Wang Burma Cave
system will take approximately three and a half hours. A buddy system is advisable
for amateurs. The journey starts with a 40-minute uphill jungle trek guided by an
experienced Forest Range before reaching the entrance of the cave. While hiking,
you will be pampered with fresh air and also the nature of the rainforest. If you are
lucky enough, you might get leeches for free. A visit to the cave requires caving gear
and a guide from the Park Visitor Centre. The cave has some clay, but it is mostly
dry, so most visitors just use old clothes. Better caving gear, like overalls and
helmets, is nevertheless recommended. The cave is mostly huge, but there are
some narrow crawls to master. There are a few rare species of animals in this forest
so if you intend to find them, ask the rangers. There are steel platforms at the
entrance and some parts of the caves. There are no lights in the cave, so you must
be very dependent on your torch lights. Enthusiasts can explore the cave at a
leisurely pace, or climb, crawl, and squeeze between narrow passages and muddy
tunnels.
