Surigao City Central Elementary School is located at Barangay Taft, Surigao City.

It is
situated at Diez Street Corner Narciso Street, Surigao City. It traces its beginning when it was
formally known as Pilot B Elementary School and later named as the Surigao City Central
Elementary School upon the creation of eight ( districts of Surigao City Division. It is then
named as the new central school of District V of the division. Forty-three years ago SUCCES
was born under the stewardship of Mrs. Ellen Amores who was the principal of the named
Pilot B Elementary School, an annex satellite school of Surigao City Pilot School. Being an
annex school, the school started with Grade I and 2 with sex sections each and 12 teachers to
serve the pupils enrolled. As the pupils' enrolment increase its population, the school principal
Mrs. Amores decided to request Mr. Ediberto Felicio, the Public Schools District Supervisor
and Mr. Francisco Mendoza, the Schools Division Superintendent to have the school become
a complete elementary school. Having analyze and after consultation, the hereby request was
approved, thus, in the middle of 1980 (SUCES) Surigao City Elementary School was born
and established as a complete elementary school of Surigao City Division. Hereto is the
history of the school leadership beginning the year 1978-1982, the school principal was Mrs.
Gloria Penaranda followed by the school principal Mrs. Ellen Amores in the year 1980-1984,
with 12 teachers and a 500 pupils population. She was followed by Mrs. Anthea C. Sepida in
the year 1984-1986 with 15 teachers. Miss Lina Lancin manned in the year 1986-1989 with
20 teachers and 800 pupils' population followed by Mrs. Remedios T. Cosmiano in the year
1989-1992 followed by Miss Annabelle L. Chavez in the year 1992-1994, then by Mrs.
Luzviminda Q. Edillor in the year 1994-1997 and Mrs. Serapia A. Donoso as OIC in the year
1997-1998, and followed by Mrs. Teresita C. Lipang in the year 1998-2002. Followed by
Mrs. Cera Cabuga in the year 2002-2003 then Mrs. Julieta Virtudazo in the year 2004-2005
then Mr. Nelson F. Hadji in the year 2005-2009 soon followed by Mrs. Frediswinda F.
Gonzaga then Mrs. Noemi D. Lim then Mrs. Herminia A. Ruina and followed by Mr.
Marcelino Borja in the year 2010-2011 with 1000 pupils' population then Mrs. Claire V.
Ortega was the school principal in the year 2012-2013 and followed by Mrs. Eda

and followed by Mrs. Eda E. Ensomo in the year 2013-2016. On August 01, 2016 Mr. Nelson
F. Hadji was the school principal as he gets back to service SUCCES for the second time and
ended his term on July 26, 2021 when Dr. Richard B. Antallan assumes his duty as the new
School Principal IV with his Assistant School Principal Mrs. Judelia M. Ausa who performed
her duty last August, 2022. The school is now formally named as Surigao City Central
Elementary School. Recently, SUCCES has 48 permanent teachers including the 2 ALS
teachers and 1 Madrasah contractual teacher. It has also 1 Administrative Officer, 1
Administrative Assistant, with 4 utility workers and 4 security guards funded by SGPTA and
school MOOE funds, and Job order from the city government of Surigao. As regards to the
performance of the school, teachers performed their level of performance by attending
district, division, regional, and national trainings. Pupils are also joining the different subject
areas competition up to national level. As years passed, Surigao City Central Elementary
School is always at the forefront of providing quality global education for the Filipino youth.
