 Our Trip
The trip began on Wednesday , the 2nd of November at 12:30 pm . We were
welcomed by the workers there , who were very helpful and offered to gave us a
look around the facility .

We visited a lot of departments and understood how it works , their duties , and
how they coordinate with each other to provide health-care . We rst visited the
Communicable Diseases department , which included control of AIDS , in
terms of detection and treatment of known cases which is totally free and
available for patients. It also included Cholera control , Zoonotic diseases ,
Cholera , Bilharziasis and Respiratory infections . Each of them
involves assessment , detection , reporting , research , and treatment of known
cases in coordination with hospitals and other health-care facilities .

We also visited the Non Communicable Diseases department , which

includes diabetes , hypertension , ischemic heart diseases and other diseases
including psychological impairment and abuse . They said that this department
is always ahead and ranked high in comparison with other cities in Iraq .

We also visited School health , Vaccination and Pregnancy and

maternal care , each of them providing health-care in a well-organised
manner .

 Conclusion

The experience was good overall , but it can be improved by giving students
more participation and promoting them to have a more direct role in terms of
presentation of information and encourage them to learn more about the
different facilities .

The number of student is way more than how these facilities are designed , so
we hope students can be divided into groups that visit different locations with
earlier timing during the morning .

These activities can help us build knowledge in an interesting way , and have a
practical view of health-care facilities in our country .
