AN ORDER ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY TANOD IN BARANGAY LABUIN PILA


LAGUNA

WHEREAS, Section 391 (16) of Republic Act 7160, otherwise known as the Local
Government Code of 1991, provides for the organization of community brigades,
barangay tanods or community service units as maybe necessary. The States
recognizes the integral role of Barangay Tanod in governance and maintenance of
peace and security at the barangay level;
WHEREAS, the Department of the Interior and Local Government issued Memorandum
Circular No. 2003-42 on March 10, 2003, provides for the “Guidelines on
Professionalizing the Barangay Tanod” with the primordial concern of making these
Barangay Tanods as agents for peace and development consistent to the thrust of the
present administration towards building a strong republic;
WHEREAS, DILG MC No. 98-227 and MC 99-236 dated December 2,1998 enjoins
all barangays to create their Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils, in
furtherance of overall government efforts to address the above-mentioned
problem;
WHEREAS, DILG-MC No. 2015-63 dated June 16, 2015 emphasizes to local
authorities especially barangay officials their principal responsibilities in support of
overall government efforts to address peace and order particularly to curb illegal drugs
and other substances.
NOW THEREFORE, I, JOVIR P. MATIENZO Punong Barangay Labuin, Pila
Laguna, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby reorganize the
BARANGAY TANOD with the following compositions and functions.
