In this opportunity I am going to introduce you to a person who changed many women
lives, she is Peruvian and
Her name is, Mariana Costa, she is the founder and CEO of Laboratoria.
Mariana Costa was born in Lima, on March 20, 1986, studied in San Silvestre High
School And university Catolica, afterwards between the years 2004 and 2007 study
International Relations at the London School of Economics. Later, she obtained a
Master's degree in
Public Administration from Columbia University.

What is a laboratory?. Laboratoria is a organization that provides opportunities

to women who do not have access to technology and to be trained in subjects like
web development.
The process begin with a six-month bootcamp in technical skills, at the end of the
bootcamp, students are connected with companies to obtain jobs in development
software and user experience design. Surprisingly, they already have more than 2800
women trained
,placing 85% in technology jobs and not only with national companies.
In this Bootcamp, women will learn to work as a team, investigate, test, ask for
help and
They will accept criticism, all this with the accompaniment of trainers.

During 6 months, five days, and four hours each day, the students need to make an
effort to assist the presencial classes.
The womens also need to be self confident and stubborn to manage to the goal.
Laboratoria gives you all the support with coach.

When the graduates get a job, they pay back what the bootcamp cost, which in Peru
is $3800 dollars.
It's like a student loan. But don't worry you can pay in installments only if you
get a job in
techonoly.

Laboratoria was founded in 2014, with only 15 students, in a borrowed classroom and
with donated laptops
by friends and family. Amazingly, it now has branches in countries like
Chile, Mexico, Brazil Colombia and Ecuador.

Mariana was invited in 2016 to the global summit of entrepreneurs in which they
were also
Barack Obama and Mark Zukemberg where she talked about how technology can change
lives
of people with few resources.
I'm forget something important, to support the project they
use companies that finance it, such as telefonica, google, lenovo, microsoft, etc.

In the year 2019, matel chose 20 women who inspire the world, this was part of the
60 years of creation
of the most popular doll in the world. One of those chosen was Mariana to be taken
as a model and influence
positively to girls around the world. She is an inspiring peruvian women.
Mariana is on the BBC's list of "100 Most Influential Women of 2016".
