No Claim Discount protection for life

If you have four or more years No Claim Discount you may be able to protect it for the life of your policy for an
additional premium, providing you’re eligible. If you do, your No Claim Discount will not be reduced regardless of
the number of claims you make. You can only add protected No Claim Discount for life at the start of your policy or
at renewal.

If you make changes to your policy during the year which results in you no longer being eligible for this additional
cover, we may remove it. By adding No Claim Discount for life to your policy, your premium may still increase at
renewal if you've made a claim, due to other rating factors which may apply. At renewal, depending on the number
of claims or incidents recorded on your policy, we may be unable to ofer you a renewal quote.

What happens to your unprotected No Claim Discount if you make a claim?


If we've been unable to recover all our losses in relation to the claim - known as 'non recoverable' or ‘fault’ claim,
your NCD entitlement will be reduced at renewal to the amount shown in the table below:

What happens if you don’t make a claim?


Your No Claim Discount will increase by one year, every time this policy is renewed up to a maximum of 20 years.

You’ve chosen to auto-renew


By renewing your policy automatically with us, your cover will continue uninterrupted and we will take payments as
agreed. This gives you peace of mind knowing you’ll never miss your renewal date (e.g. if you’re unwell, on holiday
or life just gets in the way).
When you get your renewal quote (we’ll send it 3 to 4 weeks before your renewal date), please check you’re happy
with the quote, that the policy cover is still right for you and meets your needs, plus all your details are correct.
If you’re happy with everything, your policy will automatically renew on your renewal date (you have 14 days from
the policy renewal date to change your mind about renewing with us).

Want to stop your policy from renewing automatically?


This can be done at any time. You can use Live Chat online or in My Account or call 0345 603 7879 (get in touch
either way Mon-Fri 8am-8pm, Sat 9am-5pm, Sun 9am-2pm) and we’ll change it straight away. Or you can write to
The Equinox, 19 Cadogan Street, Glasgow, G2 6QQ – if you write please allow up to 15 days for us to make the
change.
Please note cancelling your Direct Debit won’t stop your policy from auto-renewing (or cancel the policy
altogether) so please contact us.
If you decide to stop your policy from renewing automatically with us, your policy will end on the renewal date and
your cover will stop. This means if you miss your renewal date (e.g. if you’re unwell, on holiday or life just gets in the
way) you could be left without insurance.
And if you end up opting out of auto-renewal, but then want to opt back in again, you can. Either use Live Chat
online or in My Account or call 0345 603 7879 and one of the team will help you (they’re available Mon-Fri
