1. How was the transformation of the Starbucks to 100B worth Corporation ?

They were able to provide an experience that changed how much of the world thought about coffee shops and how many of us drink
coffee outside of our homes. Starbucks created a third place between home and work where people can relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and
experience the inviting ambience. It also has the ability to effectively leverage their cornerstone product differentiation strategies by
offering a premium product mix of high quality beverages and snacks.

2. When did Howards Schultz start his entrepreneurship life and at what age did he start the ideation ?

There was that great smell, sure, but what caused him to fall in love with the business was the care the Starbucks owners put into
choosing and roasting the beans. He also was impressed with the owners' dedication to educating the public about the wonders of
coffee. He began working at Starbucks in 1982, hired as a director of retail operations and marketing. In 1985 he founded Il Giornale, a
coffee concern that in 1987 (with investor backing) purchased Starbucks. Under Schultz’s guidance, in four years the coffeehouse chain
grew from fewer than 20 stores to more than 100. In 1992 he took the company public, and by the end of the decade, Starbucks had
some 2,500 locations in about a dozen countries.

Howard became a football athlete and he received an athletic scholarship which is why he took communication; as a result, he
approached the topic of inspirational leadership. He wrote his first book on communication and leadership 10 years ago.
Schultz likes coffee, but he’s passionate about “building a company that treats people with dignity and respect.” He said coffee is what
Starbucks makes as a product, “but that’s not the business we’re in.” He then uses this to inspire his employees and excite his
customers.

belief that a business can only exceed expectations by sharing success with its people and the communities it serves.
