NSTP 2 (Assignment #6: COMMUNITY NEEDS ASSESMENT)

Community Needs Assessments seek to collect accurate information that is representative of a

community's needs. Prior to taking-action, assessments are performed to determine current situations
and identify issues for action, laying the groundwork for critical planning. It also establishes a framework
for developing and identifying services and solutions, as well as for constructing communities that
support and nurture children and families. A community assessment may consist of a collection of
demographic data from census records, the results of other people's surveys, and informal feedback
from community partners. Alternatively, assessments could be expanded to include focus group
discussions, town hall meetings, stakeholder interviews, and phone or mailed surveys to partnership
members and the community. A needs assessment eliminates this uncertainty by investigating the
specific needs and the actions that can be taken to meet them. For it to be better, they must Look at and
identify the needs. They must first determine how it is currently doing. Gather as much internal data as
possible. This will enable them to identify the most pressing needs. Make use of the information that
has been gathered. The information that has been gathered will point in the direction of the changes in
the workplace, it can make to better meet its needs.
