Step 1:
● On the long side of the fabric,

use a ruler and the iron to
create a seam.
● Open the seam and fold to the
crease and iron that down.
● Fold again to your original
crease and iron one last time.
● Repeat for the other side.
Step 2:
Sew:
Step 2 ● Line the presser foot on the edge
of the folded fabric
● Remember to go forward, backward,
forward and sew to the end of the
fabric...repeating forward, backward,
forward
● Repeat of the other side.
Step 3:
Step 3 Clip excess threads
off all ends of the
fabric.
On the short end of the fabric:
Step 4: ● Fold over the ruler and iron
Step 4 ● Open the seam and fold to
the crease and iron that
down.
● Now fold AGAIN with the
fabric folded over the ruler
Create your casing and iron again. You should now
have a seam folded as you
iron.
● Repeat for the other side.

Pin casing on both ends


of the fabric
Six 6: ● Line presser foot to the edge
of the fabric
Step 6 ● Remember to sew forward,
backward, forward and continue
to the end of the fabric
● Again sew forward, backward
Sew the casing forward at the end
● Repeat on other side of the
fabric, creating two casings.
Step 7 & 8: ● Fold the fabric with right sides
together.

● Using a ruler, mark 1 ½ inch

sides of the long edge of the
fabric
casing ● Put a pin where that marking is.
● Add pins near the seams to
ensure fabric does not move

● You are sewing from the pin to
the casing, leaving a hole at the
bottom of each seam.
Step 9:
Line the edge of the fabric

● Start where your pin
is...remember forward, back,
forward
● End at casing, forward,
back, forward
Step 10:
Step 10 Repeat on the other side but
remember:
The bulk of the fabric must always
be to the LEFT
This time you will begin at the casing
and end at the pin at the bottom of
your bag
REMEMBER to sew forward, backward,
forward when beginning and ending!
● Pin a safety pin to the end of your
cording
Step 11: ● Starting at one of the openings, weave
the cording through the casing.
● When you get to the other side, weave
the cording through the other side of

the casing.
● When you are finished, the cording
should be on the same side of the
fabric.

Repeat Step 11 starting on the other
side of the bag.
Step 12:
You should now have a set of cording

on both sides of your bag.

Pull the cording on each side and tie a


knot at the end.

have it coming out the hole on the
bottom of both sides of the bag.

Pull the knot so it

inside of the edge
of fabric and pin it
into place.

You will be sewing the opening


closed while sewing the cording
into place.
Repeat on the other side.

Last step:
Turn your bag right side out.
You are done!
