The activity
The initial filtration rate in a plate and frame filter, working at constant pressure, is 50L/min
separating 500 L of liquid filter in 1 hour. Estimate:

A. find k2,
B. find k1,
C. the filtration rate, as an average, for the whole process,
D. the filter washing time, at the same pressure with 75 L water.
E. the filtration capacity of the equipment.

It takes 30 minutes to load and clean the filter.

Hints:
● Remember that Ve is related to the initial filtration rate

● The filtration rate is not constant, as can be seen from its inverse equation. However for
the purposes of this problem it shall roughly be taken as it
