HISTORY

Francisca's Dance Center is an institution inspired by the mother of

Philippine Dance Francisca Aquino. The president, Dr. Leorisa Alejo, thought of
building a dance center that will equip all aspiring dancers with the knowledge and
skills in dancing. She thought that this dance center would enable the students to
strengthen and completely develop their dancing skills, abilities, and passion.
She earned a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and graduated with
flying colors Magna Cum Laude from the University of Melbourne in the year 2014.
She also took another bachelor's degree in Business administration and got her
Doctoral degree in Business Administration from the same University. After a year
she came back to the Philippines to pursue her dreams to build a dance center
that aspiring dancers will benefit a lot. While she is planning to build a dance center
for aspiring dancers, she has been part of some dance studios in Manila as a dance
Choreographer and trainer. Some of the dance schools or studios she took in are
in Ballet Philippines CCP Dance School in Pasay, Metro Manila in 2017, as part of
a dance mentor. In the year 2021, she took another dance school Steps Dance
Studio as the main Choreographer. She once represented the Philippines in Dance
sport which she got a silver in Latin last 31 st Southeast Asian Games held in
Vietnam.
One of her motivations is her dedication, passion, and affection for

dancing which she wanted to share with aspiring dancers like her and for her to
serve as inspiration to pursue whatever dreams they have, no matter how hard it
is, as long as they have the passion in dancing, they can make it and conquer it.
She experienced a lot of downfalls during her time as a dancer which made her
think of giving up but those terrible experiences didn't stop her from attaining her
dream to become a dancer and to educate or inspire dancers. Dr. Leorisa Alejo
formed a committee to assist her in carving out the Dance Center.
One of the committees is Dr. Ma. Rebecca Ramboyong who graduated Cum
Laude from the University of the Philippines Diliman with the degree of Bachelor
of Science in Accountancy and took another Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration and got her Doctoral degree in Business Administration College of
Business and Arts in Calamba City, Laguna, before she became a Vice-President of
Francisca's Dance Center. She has also a background in dancing which led her to
work in the dance center. Dr. Ramboyong is a colleague of Dr. Alejo, which is why
they have established a dance center that can certainly benefit aspiring dancers.

Ashley Marlene Ibias, M.Ed is the dance center’s registrar in which she
graduated at Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Bachelor of Science in
Office Administration with Civil Service Certificate and got her master’s degree in
Higher Education Management.
Ashley Nicole Sapinoso, MFin and Ms. Gaizhel Yhein Data who are experts
in finances both part of the Francisca's Dance Center to maintain the finances that
are entering and flowing all the money, and become trustees in Francisca's Dance
Center.
Mr. Tito Renegado was appointed as the head of the human resource
management committee in which he will be the one to assist in developing the
dance center. To turn the plans into reality, Architect Rey Barela who is also the
head of the operational officer of the dance center donated 2.5 hectares of land
to build the Dance Center.

The circle represents unity,

wholeness, perfection, completeness
and cyclic motion. In our dance center,
we will discipline our students to be
unified with each other. To ensure that
they are socially good. Our dance
center will help students to create
friendships and trust to each other.
The color gold represents luxury, success, achievement, triumph, royalty,

fortune, confidence, elegance, and accomplishment. We will provide the quality
education that our students deserve. We will make sure that they will be equipped
with sufficient knowledge the moment they step out of our institution. We will build
a student full of confidence and who has a lot of achievements in the presents and
the future.
The laurel leaves represent the knowledge and learning. Through our
professional dance instructors, we will ensure a high-quality education in which
they will surely learn and develop the knowledge and skills which they can apply
in their future careers. We will ensure a friendly learning institution with no mental
pressure, just full enjoyment.
Dancer represents joy, celebration, and/or possession by a higher power,

be it good or evil. The act of dancing is also linked with rhythm and transforming
time into motion. Our institution will be building not just a dancer who can move
or dance but also a dancer that is full of stories and experiences, a dancer that will
inspire others through dancing. A dancer that will be one of our country’s stars.
The Red heart represents infinite passion, center of emotion and love for
dance. We will help our students to pursue and improve their passion for dancing
and we will let them use dance to express their emotions.

Francisca's Dance Center provides high-quality, accessible dance tuition in a warm,

loving, and supportive atmosphere. It strives to nurture and inspire all our dance
performers, young and adults. It is committed to offering each student the space
and tools to prosper, develop and succeed in achieving their goals. Moreover, it
enforces a learner-centered approach to fully develop the student's skills and
abilities.
VISION
Francisca's dance center will serve as the stepping stone for aspiring dancers. It
seeks to share passions in dance with the students and it strives to create a positive
teaching environment for them. It believes that offering a kind, welcoming
atmosphere is the best way for our students to enjoy learning. Experience is a vital
way to fully develop the student's skills in dance, build their self-confidence and
achieve their fullest potential.

BEGINNER
ELEMENTS OF COMPOSITION IN DANCE (DANCE 011)
In this course, the students will learn, explore, and identify the elements of
dance such as time, space, energy, body, and action. The students will learn how
to process and explore movement ideas by creating their dance choreography. The
students are also able to manipulate elements of dance to various lengths to
compose dance.
AEROBICS AND GYMNASTICS (DANCE 012)
This course will introduce basic aerobic exercises that will be a great help
to students to improve their strength, agility, flexibility, balance, and coordination.
It will also allow learners to perform aerobic gymnastics as a competitive sport.
UNDERSTANDING RHYTHM AND TIMING (DANCE 013)
This course highlights the application of knowledge about how to dance in

a rhythmic way and appreciation of the role of timing in dance. Students will be
given various rhythmic dance activities, experience to develop their skills, and
creativity in dancing.
PRINCIPLE OF DANCE: POSTURE, POISE AND FRAME (DANCE 014)
This course will introduce the importance of the three principle of dance
and their role in creating student own choreography. Students will be given various
activity to experience and explore their skills in dancing.

INTERMEDIATE
FLEXIBILITY, COORDINATION AND COLLABORATION (DANCE 015)
This subject introduces the benefits of flexibility and coordination when

students create their own dance piece. The students will be given activities such
as developing dance form applying flexibility and coordination.
DANCE REPERTORY (DANCE 016)
This course is focused on learning and rehearsing dance choreography. The

students will gain experience and knowledge in existing choreography as well as
new created dance choreography and development of performance techniques.
IMPROVISATION TECHNIQUE OF DANCES (DANCE 017)
This course introduces dance improvisation as an art form, personal

practice, and a process for creating own choreography through movement
exploration, observation, and application. Learners will explore and challenges
themselves to perform individually and by group.
ADVANCE
DEVISING PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE (DANCE 018)
In this course, the students will explore the importance of body in devising
physical performance. They will able to produce their own dance individually or by
group.
DANCE PRODUCTION (DANCE 019)
This course provides knowledge and understanding of mounting dance

material for stage or commonly known as dance production. It shall familiarize the
students with the elements of production and performance management. It also
allows students to work with their classmates to create new dance piece while
knowing their role in a given activities.

FRANCISCA’S DANCE CENTER is located at Sta. Elena Baras Nabua Camarines

Sur. We chose this location for the following reasons:
1. This location is along the highway.

2. This location has easy access to transportation since there are a lot of
multicabs and tricycles passing.
3. The location is 1.9km from the municipality of Nabua which will only take 5
minutes to ride.
4. The location is 2.2km from the municipality of Iriga City which will only take
4 minutes to ride.
5. The land is owned by the operational officer of Francisca’s Dance Center,
Architect Rey Barela.
