ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Foremost, we would like to extend our deepest praises to the Almighty God,
the giver of life and source of wisdom; for giving us good health, courage, hope,
and strength to overcome all the difficulties we encountered in the process of
making this project.
To the people who, in one way or another, helped and gave inspiration in
accomplishing this endeavor.
The following people truly deserve our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation
for having greatly contributed to this project:
To our supportive parents and members of our families, relatives, and loved
ones for their financial and moral support, as well as for imparting the knowledge
that we need in the process of making this project.
To our instructor, Romeo B. Sotto, Jr., LPT, MAEd, who patiently taught and
shared their knowledge and advice with us.
To Nabua Central Pilot School SPED Teacher, especially Ms. Dianne
Trinidad, who unselfishly graced our interview and allowed us to ask important
matters about special education.
To our Baranggay officials, specifically Kgwd. Caezar Ian L. Prades who
allowed us to conduct interview about building matters.
Lastly, to our group members, whose time, dedication, and efforts
contributed to the success of this project.
Making a school protoype and curriculum is not an easy task to do. Many
things are needed to accomplish and must be arranged properly. There are lots of
things to consider along with the process of making this project. Unity within the
group is necessary to make this project a success. Indeed, it is a great
achievement for beginners like us to accomplish such difficult task. Working on it
alone without any comments or suggestions from others can lead to errors in the
process of making it.

Again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all aforementioned people who helped
us in our project.

THE HISTORY OF THE GOLDEN SUCCESS LEARNING CENTER

Nothing could be more fulfilling than helping to establish an inclusive
learning environment for children with additional needs. Helping those children
acquire knowledge and skills suited for them, making learning effective and
meaningful, and providing quality education for them.
The Golden Success Learning Center has its own inspiring history that
needs to be shared and told to others. This learning center will serve as an
instrument to give children with special needs the education they deserved.
. Way back in 1995, through the efforts and good deeds of Mr. and Mrs.
June Casili, the late grandfather and grandmother of the president, Jessa Casili-
Smith, gave the land to her as their heirs. Her grandfather told her to use that land
for future use, especially for a good cause. He also said that if it's possible, she
can build a school there.
Jessa Casili knows that the land is a treasure to their family, she promised
her grandfather that she would use that land in a good way. Her family moved to
the United States of America, where she finished her studies at Harvard University,
from which she graduated and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business
Administration, as well as the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy in Education (Ph.D.)
and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.). She has now a stable job, which
she earned a lot of in the US togeter with her husband and two children.
Jessa fought a hard battle when her daughter, who was diagnosed with
Down syndrome and had severe health complications, eventually passed away.
Because of this, after years of thinking, Jessa decided to go back to the Philippines,
especially to the province where she wants to fulfill her grandfather’s wish and in
memory of her late daughter. She came up with the idea of establishing a school
specifically for a SPED learning center. Since the place already has an elementary
and high school where the regular students are enrolled, it is now time to provide
a welcoming and inclusive environment and services for students with special
needs and make that place an inclusive learning environment for all.
On a piece of land that she inherited from her grandfather, the idea of
establishing a SPED learning center became a reality. However, her saved money
for establishment is not enough, which is why she approached and borrowed 10
million pesos from her good friend, Mr. Romeo B. Sotto Jr.
A learning center should also have an administrative structure for managing
a school. She appointed her sister, Mary Rose C. Tanamor, Ph.D., who, luckily, is
a SPED teacher in the US. She also contacted her friends, whom she knew would
be a great help in managing the center.

The Golden Success Learning Center is located in San Vicente Ogbon,

Nabua, Camarines Sur. It is in front of Victor Bernal High School. We chose this
location for the following reasons:

1. The feasibility of the place It is accessible by neighboring barangays

because every zone has access or a route to the next barangay. The
barangays are: San Antonio Ogbon; La Opinion; Sta. Cruz; Madawon;
going to Sto. Domingo; San Isidro; Bustrac; and a way going to Bato Cam.
Sur.
2. It is safe for students with special needs because it is not along the
highway. There are few vehicles that pass through that area.
3. We want San Vicente Ogbon, Nabua, to be an inclusive place for learners.
The place has daycare center, elementary, high school. However, the
enrollees are regular students. Whereas, as SPED learning center, we are
the ones who will know if the students have achieved the learning and
skills needed to enroll in a regular school.
4. The land that was donated was already there and owned by the president.
