ABDOMEN ASSESSMENT
DEFINITION:
• Examination of the abdomen includes inspection, auscultation, percussion and palpation in sequence.
PURPOSE:
• To know if there is any deviation from normal findings in assessing the abdomen.
EQUIPMENT:
• Examining light
• Tape measure (metal or unstretchable cloth)
• Water-soluble skin-marking pencil
• Stethoscope
