Reading is a complex process that involves sensation, perception, comprehension, application and

integration. It is the process of making and getting meaning from printed words and symbols. It is a
means of communication, sending and receiving information and ideas.

The Misamis Oriental National High School conducted the Pre-Reading Comprehension Proficiency Level
in English through reading, to see how the students are coping up with the new normal setting and
assess their reading ability amidst the pandemic.

The teachers, the school reading coordinator, headed by the school principal of Misamis Oriental
National High School, Sir Pedro R. Estaño Jr.,Ph.D. administered screening test, reading test and
comprehension test to assess the reading skills of the students. The result shows that students during

enhancements.
