[Let progress be done, though our jeepneys be rid!] / [Ridding our nation of its old, harmful backbone.] At the
end of the Second World War, the Filipinos showed its ingenuity to the world by modifying the left-over army
jeeps left by the Americans into what it is today; A staple of the Filipino Culture. However, the problem with
these vehicles is that they produce way too much emissions that harms the environment. The government’s
Public Utility Vehicle Modernization program, or PUVMP may sound good on paper, but it does not take into
account the [spending ability] of our jeepney drivers.
