ECOLOGY
I. Food Chain
1. Ecosystem: Ocean
2. Producer: Seaweed
3. Primary Consumer: Clownfish
4. Secondary Consumer: Seal
5. Tertiary Consumer: Great White Shark
6. Seaweed – Clownfish – Seal – Great White Shark

II. Food Web

1. Ecosystem: Tundra
2. Producers: Phytoplanktons
3. Primary Consumers: Bowhead Whale, Krill
4. Secondary Consumers: Silverfish, Arctic Cod, Penguin
5. Tertiary Consumers: Orca Whale, Seal, Polar Bear
6. Decomposers: Worms, Sea Cucumber

III. Analysis
1. The food chain showcases a singular flow of energy transmitted
from one organism to another meanwhile the food web
constitutes all available food chains that exists in an
ecosystem.
2. The food chain and the food web displays the consumption
relationship of all organisms within an ecosystem featuring
the flow of energy and nutrition. Therefore, if changes will
occur to one organism, the food chain or the food web that
exists will be altered as well as the natural flow will be
disrupted thus affecting the consumers which may lead into
their deaths.
3. Scientists have documented that there is a significant amount
of lakes that has vanished in Tundra regions in Greenland due
to climate change in which human activities (especially
industrial) are apparently one of the prevailing factors as
why climate change continues to be harsher.
4. Humans should be disciplined about overpopulation. If the
population all over the world continues to increase, more
demands due to livelihood will continue to trend upward which
will cause more pressure to agriculture and energy production
and inevitably cause more pollution, destruction, overfishing
and overhunting. Creating a new life isn’t a sin but humanity
should be aware that a new life should be equivalent into
planting a new sprout as well.

IV. Reflection
In what ways do ecological factors shape the behavior of animals
in their natural habitats?
- The environment can affect a species’ capability to survive and
adapt. It is a common knowledge that not all animals can exist
in different ecosystem therefore ecological factors can alter
and change, not only the behavior of an animal, but also the
morphological and physiological development of that certain
organism.
