Dear Sir/Madam,
This has reference to the above mention subject.
We would like to inform you that while examining the shared drafted Doc. No.: CHD 19
(22008) WC IS 6721: XXXX February 2023, the following things are observed which are as
follows:

Suggestions/Objections/Comments
6721: XXXX it is observed that the
fittings of the footwear will be
guided in according with IS 1638
and also will depend upon the
design and style of the footwear but
in no case shall be less than values
specified in IS 1638. But as per
details given in Clause 3.2 of IS 1638
for the fittings and sizes it is
observed that the standard length of
fitting and sizes are given for the
lasts and shall be checked on the
lasts. We would like to inform you
that the measurement of
dimensions of lasts is only
applicable on closed footwear like
shoes; due to open-type footwear
the sandals and Slippers are not
technically possible to manufacture
some of the archicles as per
standard lengths given in tables 1 to
10.
2. And it is observed that in IS 1638
from table 1 to 10 there is no
tolerance is given for the sizes and
fittings .
It is also observed that there is no
such ISO 4647-1:2016 is available on
https://www.iso.org/standard. ISO
4647:2010 is available which is used
for Rubber, vulcanized —
Determination of static adhesion to
textile cord — H-pull test. In this
standards the procedure to perform
the Tear Strength test is not available.
Also as perclause 6.3 of IS 15298
(Part 1):2015 it is observed that ISO
 4647-1: 2016is available which is
used to perform the test Rubber- or
plastics-coated fabrics —
Determination of tear resistance —
Part 1: Constant rate of tear methods.

Sir, in the view of mentioned Suggestions/Objections/Comments we request you to take

appropriate action/actions regarding the points. If these Suggestions/Objections/Comments
are accepted, the gap in this specification made for Sandal and Slippers will be completed.
