Informal vendors and homeless people are scattered along Escolta St.

Traffic occurs specially during holidays.
ESTERO DE LA REINA ALONG BANQUERO ST.
FINDINGS
Alongside of Banquero St. there is a creek named as Estero de la Reina where are some portions prone
to flood. Especially in Uno building or known as Calvo building. However, it can easily subside
because of constant clearing operation regulated by Baranggay officials.
FINDINGS
The site has an eyesore due to unfinished demolition of Historical Building of the Old Capitol Center.
Some other buildings are also old and not being used for a years.
INSTITUTIONAL FACILITY
FINDINGS
About land use and ownership, there are existing facilities that gives services to people around Escolta,
such as police station, Japanese church and two fire station and Baranggay hall.

Yuchengco Plaza and Parking Lot found along Escolta St. and Del Blanco Nacional.
OTHER ISSUES
FINDINGS
Electric post and road parking are obstruction for pedestrian usage.
SIDEWALKS
FINDINGS
Fortunately, sidewalks are wide and open for the users. It is walkable for all in some portion of the
street. Mainly because of improper parking and lack of edges.
EXISTING SOLUTION
FINDINGS
Escolta Car Park and segregating of recycle bottles are some factors that can help Escolta St. be a
healthy environment.
