On November 30, 1863, Andrés Bonifacio y de Castro was born in Manila, Philippines.

Bonifacio's parents
worked arduously to support him and his siblings because he had five younger siblings. As a youngster,
Bonifacio had a full-time job to help his younger siblings. He started off as a tar, rattan, and other
products broker for a British trading company before switching over to work as a warehouse manager for
a German trading firm. Bonifacio did not finish his official education, so he educated himself by reading
literature.

'La Liga Filipina,' a clandestine group started by Filipino nationalist José Rizal, was where Bonifacio joined
in 1892. Once this group started to pose a threat to Spanish authorities, Rizal was taken into custody and
expelled. Following Rizal, Bonifacio, and other people's eviction,

He originally made a career by creating bamboo canes and paper fans that he then sold. But his family's
low means of subsistence were scarcely covered by the small revenue from handicrafts. He found work
as a messenger at a British company called Fleming and Company and later as a warehouse keeper at a
foreign trading company called Fressel & Company despite having little experience and no formal
education. Being naturally independent and eager to learn and absorb new things, this new environment
gave him the chance to learn Spanish by listening to Spanish conversations to increase his vocabulary
and improve his proficiency in the language.
