Ans: Dholavira is one of the two largest harappan sites in India and the 5th largest in the
subcontinent.The most striking feature of the city is that its buildings,at least in their present
state of preservation, are built of stone.The site has one of the worlds earliest water
conservation systems.

Ans: VEDIC AGE
The Vedic Age was between 1500 BC and 600 BC.This is the next major civilization that
Occurred in ancient India after the decline of the Indus Valley Civilization by 1400 BC.
The Vedas were composed in this period and this gives this age the name.Vedas are
also the chief source of information about this era.It is also known as Rig vedic
period.They believed mostly in pastoral activities,limited agriculture with smaller
economy.They raised cattle,sheep,goats,which became the symbols of wealth.
Pre-Mauryan Era
The pre Mauryan age had a number of governmental upheavals,which resulted in
economic developments.It was the period when janapadas grew in size and
became involved in territorial expansion,resulting in the developments of
Mahajanapadas.
